So let's say Trump does impose the 25% tariffs. You're saying that Canada will NOT retaliate by cutting off our oil? My thoughts: if I were Canada I'd find new markets for that oil and just say, "F*ck you, Trump." Will the Canadians continue to sell us the oil despite the tariffs, do you think?

I think you might be surprised by how many of the % that do move actually do have a noticeable change of life. Wife and I got serious about moving/working offshore in our 30's. Had our first child in Europe. Have spent more time out of the US than in since then. As our connections to the US have faded over time, and through deaths etc, we really have felt an ever decreasing pull to go back. One of the huge changes we went through was life style over money. The US, compared to almost any other place we have lived, hard correlates money with lifestyle, but we've learned that just isn't a necessary reality in other countries. Hard to explain, but there are certainly (imo) better lifestyles to be had. If I was a young person raising children again I think the US would be well behind several other countries as a desirable place to do so. Not for economic reasons, but for social reasons. That's not to say you couldn't find a wonderful place to live somewhere in rural or semi rural America, but finding that place, and finding a good career in the same place, is something that can be hard for most to achieve.

I can't speak highly enough about the Mexican Americans in Texas. I go to a Hispanic dentist. His staff is also mostly Hispanic. I missed an appointment and one of his staff members called me, not to admonish me but to say she was concerned about me. The Hispanics in our state make us that much better as a society.

There’s a huge literal difference between our government’s ongoing efforts to stop illegal activity from crossing our Southern border and an actual “for real” war like OP is suggesting.

I've tried with no success several times to begin a discussion on changing (fixing) the Federal income tax code.
If you or someone else would begin a thread with an intent to DISCUSS creating a replacement tax code, I would be more than glad to engage in a civil discussion with you and any others like minded.

It is racist to assume that young children who do not speak English are not American citizens and want to go out of one's way to call immigration authorities to deport them. People who do that fully deserve Stage 3 bowel cancer.

Trump said they committed Crimes and he want to prove they did!
That is NOT "revenge or retribution" that is following&upholding the Law!
Remember Trump did not make them break laws, and if they didn't we should find out in court! SO why get Pardons?
Trump tried > 60 to get in to Federal court to Prove there was a Coup! If they wanted to charge him they just needed to
let him go to court where they could bring all their evidence !
But the Corrupt Judges used "Lack of Standing" to prevent Trump from getting in to Court!
That is insane because Trump said he lost the Presidency because of a Coup, and the DEM's et al said that Trump tried to change a Fair Election(which is Abuse of Power and Treason)! So no matter how you cut it EVERY AMERICAN HAS STANDING, especially Trump !
