[W:476] It's fine if the NFL Players Kneel. Go for it.

Re: It's fine if the NFL Players Kneel. Go for it.

No one believes you. And I mean you will never find ANYONE on Debate Politics.....not single person.....to agree with you that a company can grant rights. It is the absolute silliest thing I have ever heard and demonstrates a complete lack of understanding of constitutional rights. All rights are constitutional rights. They do not come from anywhere other than the constitution.

This is great for a laugh though
iLOL There you go being confused again.
This discussion has absolutely nothing to do with the legal entitlements of the Constitution.
The Constitution does not give them a "right" to protest on their employers time. Period.

Companies granting rights.....get used to hearing that. Every time you bring up rights here I will bring it up again and I GUARANTEE you that no one will support you on that. LOL

Re: It's fine if the NFL Players Kneel. Go for it.

They are more than welcome to kneel.
I think they are the worst sort of asshats.
You are welcome to support the kneeling, by all means.

Just don't say I, nor anyone else lacks the right to find their actions reprehensible and worthy of not watching the NFL, not buying Merchandise or watching the games.

Having the right to kneel and **** on the flag, and America during the National Anthem, fine go for it. Just don't say we have to like it, respect it or support it.

Your president ****s on the flag every ****ing day. I never hear you complaining about that.

But, whoa....a football player kneels before the game--"I'm no longer buying Jerseys."

iLOL You can't guarantee anything.
Especially as I already showed you the definitions that disagree with your take on it.

A "right" is a legal entitlement. You can not show that to be incorrect or wrong in any way, shape, or form.

All you are really doing is continuing to show your ignorance even though you were spoon fed the information.

No I can GUARANTEE you that. NO ONE agrees with you that a company grants you rights. NO ONE. LOL

Stop with the lies.
The evidence shows your position to be incorrect.
A "right" is a legal entitlement as the definition showed you.

Re: It's fine if the NFL Players Kneel. Go for it.

As I see it, your right to protest a series of governmental policies you see as having failed is appropriate if you are correct about where the responsibility lies. However, I hold as many Republicans at fault for doing nothing for so long, because it would effect their sources of inexpensive labor, whether directly or by investment. Suddenly, for voices in agreement about the results of unlawful immigration, the choice of who to target as responsible is no longer as superficially simple. Targeting those who overzealously demand amnesty isn't enough without simultaneously targeting those who do nothing because of how actions might effect profits.

After watching my 3 1/2 year old twin grandsons driving their new tricycles, I am convinced they are both future drunk drivers of America, regardless of if they drink booze and beer when older. Scary. Or maybe, they appreciate wearing those brightly colored bandaids?

I think you may have missed my point though. I have no problem with NFL players protesting bad policing and would encourage them to do it if they sincerely felt it was warranted. But protest the police or those in control of the police. Don't disrespect a flag and National Anthem that so many good Americans have been inspired by, encouraged by, have risked, fought, bled, and died for, and that represent the very liberties that would allow those players to protest bad policing.

It would be just as ridiculous and wrong for me to protest illegal immigration by disrespecting people or ceremonies that have had absolutely nothing to do with illegal immigration.

Stop with the lies.

Show me where I lied. You stated companies grant rights to employees. I said no one agrees with you. Where is the lie? Do companies grant rights to employees? Yes or no

Understood. No argument. My flag does represent liberty.

Re: It's fine if the NFL Players Kneel. Go for it.

Wrong. I have the right to protest whatever I want. It does not just mean criticism of the government
Actually VG. A Right is something that does not confer upon another any obligation for the exercise of said right. That's what a right is. And you are WRONG in that you have the right to act without consequence. All the Constitution and the Bill of Rights ensures is that you, VG can protest without Government interference or punishment.

It does NOT shield you from repercussions from the private sector.

Re: It's fine if the NFL Players Kneel. Go for it.

In football, taking a knee is something the quarterback does to let the clock run out at the end of the game. Taken the knees is designed to prevent last second mistakes or turnovers, so the other team cannot get the ball one last play. In that sense, kneeling during the anthem, in light of game play symbolism, was designed to be a game ender, in terms of defeating the anthem and flag, with opposition to this, having no time to rebuttal. The left never expected a penalty would send it into overtime.

It's always amazed me that Trump could tell his base to give up their favourite pastime, and many of them would. That is some seriously cultish behaviour.

You have just agreed with everything I said. Excon believes that a private company can give and take away rights? Is he correct?

I didn't agree with you. A private entity can impose restrictions on your actions. This isn't taking away your right,s it's setting limits on what the private entity will allow within the confines of their Rights. For example, a business may impose a dress code that doesn't allow political messages, I.E. hats, shirts or buttons. You are still free to wear those items, however your further employment may end quickly if you choose to do so.

He said several times quite clearly that it is the company that grants the RIGHT. I disagreed and said the company can impose consequences but you always retain the right. You are completely agreeing with me.

I don't care what he said, the constitution doesn't grant Rights either, it merely imposes restrictions on what the Government's ability to impede your Rights.

Again you are agreeing with me. I have said that over and over.

Strange bedfellows....huh?

Re: It's fine if the NFL Players Kneel. Go for it.

No I don't see that at all

You don't need to see it. It's there though. But a company does not grant rights. On that we are on the same team. LOL

He used to sit. A Vet talked to him saying that was disrespectful and that maybe he should kneel as a way of protesting while showing respect. So he began kneeling. So, how can kneeling be disrespectful when it was done specifically to show respect? When has kneeling ever been considered disrespect?

Moreover, why do you want to coerce everyone to stand?

For the 50000th time, did oyu not read his own words on why he was doing it? To **** on the flag and America.

As is his right as an american. Forced patriotism is fascist

Re: It's fine if the NFL Players Kneel. Go for it.

Well the first year of the protest saw declined ratings more in line with the slip already going on. Trump turned it into the brouhaha that it currently is. It's just a propaganda liece for him. Something he knows he can use to spin headlines, fire up his base, and generate that Reality-TV drama he's so well known for.

BTW, the kneeling thing is a propaganda piece for BLM.. and they instigated it.

Re: It's fine if the NFL Players Kneel. Go for it.

Do you suppose the BLM movement has gotten its share of publicity from this protest?

We can only hope

I think the state shooting unarmed people actually instigated it.
