We might not agree with it or choose to engage in it ourselves, but we won't be at all surprised if, going forth, Dems will watch polls and boot as a regular procedure whenever polls look really concerning to them.

Biden wasn't encouraged to drop his candidacy because of polls. Had that been the case it would have happened months and months ago . It was his debate performance which simply could not be overlooked. If not for that he would still be the candidate and Trump would be the next President. Now the Dems have a real shot. It won't be easy but at least now there is a race and new found enthusiasm.

The Obamas presented two very good and different speeches that were both calls to action but also reminding us of the commonality we need to restore. Barack Obama's speech was great at covering a wide breadth of topics and pointing out that it shouldn't be just an "us vs. them" mentality, which we need to hear more of. That kind of messaging is closer to what centrists in this country are looking to achieve, because it's obvious that as a divided nation we won't be able to move forward the way we should.
