[W:241]Trump Was Enraged by Funeral Cost for ‘F–king Mexican’ U.S. Soldier: Report

^^More really stupid stories for the easily deceived or duped.^^

Alex Pfeiffer, a spokesperson for Trump, said in a statement to the Atlantic that Trump never referred to Guillén as a “f---ing Mexican.”
“President Donald Trump never said that,” he said. “This is an outrageous lie from The Atlantic two weeks before the election.”

The Atlantic has credibility.

Trump, the serial liar, does not.

Back to the topic at hand:

What do you think of trump's reneging on his promise?

Lying spokesperson for the liar says it didn’t happen.

Pfeiffer wasn’t even working in the White House when it happened, so how would he know?

More absolute contempt Trump has for the military and servicemembers. Dismisses a dead US soldier as “a ****ing Mexican” and refuses to pay for her funeral after telling her family that he would, and later he laments not having “the kind of generals Hitler did”. He really wants to be a dictator.

The Atlantic and Rolling Stone are pretty protective of their journalistic integrity.
Plus, the story is completely plausible. Trump IS a foul-mouthed racist who often doesn't follow through on his financial promises.

Back to the topic at hand:

What do you think of trump's reneging on his promise?
From The Atlantic:

In an Oval Office meeting on December 4, 2020, officials gathered to discuss a separate national-security issue. Toward the end of the discussion, Trump asked for an update on the McCarthy investigation. Christopher Miller, the acting secretary of defense (Trump had fired his predecessor, Mark Esper, three weeks earlier, writing in a tweet, “Mark Esper has been terminated”), was in attendance, along with Miller’s chief of staff, Kash Patel. At a certain point, according to two people present at the meeting, Trump asked, “Did they bill us for the funeral? What did it cost?”

According to attendees, and to contemporaneous notes of the meeting taken by a participant, an aide answered: Yes, we received a bill; the funeral cost $60,000.

Trump became angry. “It doesn’t cost 60,000 bucks to bury a ****ing Mexican!” He turned to his chief of staff, Mark Meadows, and issued an order: “Don’t pay it!” Later that day, he was still agitated. “Can you believe it?” he said, according to a witness. “****ing people, trying to rip me off.”

Khawam, the family attorney, told me she sent the bill to the White House, but no money was ever received by the family from Trump. Some of the costs, Khawam said, were covered by the Army (which offered, she said, to allow Guillén to be buried at Arlington National Cemetery) and some were covered by donations. Ultimately, Guillén was buried in Houston....

Why doesn't The Atlantic cite its supposed sources?

Like you give a ****.

Because even if a person is named who speaks about him negatively all you guys ever do is say "Well, they're JUST A HATER!!!".

So get off your "nAmE tHe SoUrCeS" garbage.

You don't care.

More to the point, the MAGA crowd would just start calling the person with death threats.

They can't be trusted with this sort of information.

I wonder how much will get spent on Der Fuehrer's funeral?

I bet a lot more than a Mexican's.

Anyways, this is just some more divisive bullshit thrown out there to further separate the people. Gawd I hate election season. Can't be over soon enough.

What a jerk. Could he be any more prejudiced?

Will they care? Heck no. Haters will applaud this.

The Atlantic, non biased, based on fact, you bet!

Reporting in 2020:
-According to contemporaneous notes
-he reportedly told
-Trump reportedly complained later

The Atlantic two weeks before the election's 2016, the magazine urged readers to support Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in a rebuke of Republican Donald Trump's candidacy.

In 2020, it published a story, citing several anonymous sources, reporting that Trump referred to dead American soldiers as "losers"

In 2020, The Atlantic endorsed the Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election, and urged its readers to oppose Trump's re-election bid

The Mag has a history of publishing anti-Trump hate articles yet I am supposed to believe this hearsay article? Sure.

Doesn't matter.

The Atlantic uses factual reporting. Its credibility is HIGH.

Trump? His credibility is in the dumpster. As in NONE.

Back to what the current Atlantic article says: trump reneged on his promise to provide financial assistance to the family. Got a comment about trump's lie? About trump's sleaziness?

So to be clear, we should all bookmark this post to link you back to it next time you support a conservative post based on anonymous sources, yes?

Wouldn't he be thinking "all funerals matter" at the time.....

Many black and brown people are voting for Trump this cycle because they honestly think he cares about them. I'm so sad for how ignorant and/or misinformed some people are. And before anyone calls me a racist, I think if you're any ethnicity and you're voting for Trump, you're also ignorant, misinformed and unpatriotic.

Oh wow sounds reliable!
The problem with being a person who says really stupid things on a regular basis is it becomes harder to distinguish fact from fiction. Since Trump had no issue spreading a false story about Haitian migrants eating pets, him calling a soldier a "f******* Mexican" sounds perfectly plausible. I mean, we just heard him call Harris a "s**t Vice President".
