[W:#23,579]Ukraine War Thread

Just so you can see a bit better what happened with the SU25, here's a YouTube video with some slowmo and closeup screenshots.

2 and a half minutes

It was an accidental hit by an air to ground rocket, not a missile. The schadenfreude is just too much.

A little update, geolocation and new video.

>The US does not want to lower the price cap on Russian oil within the framework of the G7, Bloomberg. According to Bloomberg sources, the US is not backing down from its position on lowering the price ceiling for Russian oil. This dims Europe's hopes of pushing the decision through at the G7 summit in Canada. The sources specify that the final decision on reducing the price cap lies with US President Donald Trump. However, there has been no shift in Washington's stance since it was laid out at the G7 finance ministers' meeting earlier this year.<

Stop denying reality. Trump is aligned with Putin/Russia. Do what you have to do to hurt Russia economically.

I think the time is right for a robust European Defense Force. If Ukraine should fall, Central Europe and/or the Baltic States are next in line.

Trust me here, Trump isn't going to save you. He prefers Russia over Europe.

Trump's pulling an Orban.

Incompetence? Or Mutiny?

Incompetence? Or Mutiny?
Incompetence by both pilots, regardless of whether the rocket hit the wingman, or the wingman's evasive maneuvers overstressed the airframe and broke off his wing.

The White House is wanting to tweak Congress's Russia sanctions bill so that there is "enforcement flexibility" (Note: The source making the claim is anonymous, so...)

Behind the scenes, the White House is pushing for revisions that would grant the president greater discretion in enforcement. Specifically, officials are seeking to replace any "shall" with "may" in the bill’s text — a subtle but significant shift that would weaken mandatory enforcement.

All he knows is what Vladimir Solovyov told him.
I wonder if they have a display in front of them that shows the value of the Ruble against....well....gosh most anything.

When you're working piecemeal, you have to keep up with these things.

>A new wave of reshuffles recently took place in the leadership of Ukraine's Armed Forces - in the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Ground Forces, and the Airborne Assault Forces. Most agree that the reasons for these personnel changes lie not only in military necessity but also in personal ambitions and friction among the command staff. Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi was dismissed from his position as Commander of the Ground Forces and transferred to the post of Commander of the Joint Forces. Major Robert "Madyar" Brovdi was appointed Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces. Major General Ihor Skybyuk was dismissed from his position as Commander of the Airborne Assault Forces and reappointed as Deputy Chief of the General Staff. Skybyuk was replaced by Brigadier General Oleh Apostol, who had previously been the Deputy Commander-in-Chief.<

Zelenskyy would excell at musical chairs.

>The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has added a new operational direction due to increased enemy activity in the Sumy region. Starting June 16, the reports will include a new direction - Northern-Slobozhanskyi. The General Staff explained that this new section is being added due to growing threats from Russia in the border area and to provide timely updates to the public on the course of defensive operations. In addition, the Kharkiv direction has been officially renamed to Southern-Slobozhanskyi.<

Slobozhanskyi is a huge nature reserve located in the Krasnokutsk district of the Kharkiv region.

>According to the latest British intelligence, DPRK forces most likely suffered over 6,000 casualties during offensive operations against Ukrainian troops in Russia's Kursk region. Significant DPRK losses were almost certainly mainly due to large-scale attacks involving high infantry attrition.<

Meat-wave attacks certainly.

>President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his American counterpart, Donald Trump, will meet during the G7 summit. The last time they met was during Pope Francis' funeral in April. The 51st summit will be held from Sunday to Tuesday in the remote resort town of Kananaskis in the western province of Alberta. This town hosted the G8 in 2002. The G7 includes the leaders of the United States, Canada, France, Italy, Japan, Germany, and Britain. The meeting may also be attended by: representatives of the European Union and other leaders of countries that are not members of the G7, but were invited by Carney (Zelenskyy).<

Zelenskyy and Trump will never be best buds. It didn't have to be this way, but the die was cast with Trump's infamous "I would like you to do us a favor though" phone call with Zelenskyy on 25 July 2019.
