[W:#23,579]Ukraine War Thread

I ran across an interesting and I think very instructive video for those who don't get Putin and why Trump, among others, don't get him either.

I am familiar with the host, who co-hosts a you tube channel with another fellow based in the UK - of Russian descent the Putin cheerleaders should sit down and listen.

That was an excellent video. Thank you for posting it.

>Ukrainian drones struck two major facilities supplying Russia's military on Monday, dealing a double blow to President Vladimir Putin's war machine. The facilities struck in early morning attacks were a plant in the Chuvash Republic, which produces navigation systems for Russian drones and missiles, and a gunpowder factory in Kazan, according to local reports. Kyiv's efforts to target Russian military facilities will impact Putin's war effort in Ukraine. Efforts led by Washington to bring an end to the conflict are faltering, and both sides have launched large-scale attacks in recent weeks.<

Keep striking. 2, 3, and even 4 or more different targets inside Russia every day.

>Russia plans to seize half of Ukraine by the end of next year, according to Kyiv, which has released a map outlining purported territorial expansion plans that could put Moscow on a collision course with President Donald Trump's repeated calls for peace talks. Ukrainian Presidential Office Deputy Head Colonel Pavlo Palisa made the claims, and they were followed by Trump warning that he would use further sanctions against Moscow if the war dragged on. Palisa told reporters Thursday that Russia intends to capture all of Ukraine's Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts by September 1 and create a buffer zone along the northern Ukrainian-Russian border by the end of this year. Palisa also said Moscow intended to occupy all of Ukraine on the east (left) bank of the Dnieper River and capture the regions of Odesa and Mykolaiv by the end of 2026, which would deprive Ukraine of access to the Black Sea. The Institute for the Study of War published a map Palisa had presented.<

Basically, such a Ukraine would be a land-locked rump state with half of Kyiv occupied. When looking at Ukraine on a map, the regions of right-bank and left-bank are the "opposite" of what we expect. The right bank of Kyiv is situated on the (west) side of the Dnieper River and contains the older parts of the city, as well as the majority of Kiev's business and government institutions. The left bank of Kyiv is east of the Dnieper River and is primarily residential.

>Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation warns that Russia will intensify information and psychological operations in late June. The Kremlin's propaganda will focus on several topics at once: discrediting the Ukrainian delegation at the talks in Istanbul, attempts to demonize the Armed Forces, manipulating the topics of NATO, prisoners, abducted children, and even Pride Month. The Kremlin will spread fakes about tortures from the Ukrainian side and accuse Kyiv of sabotaging the exchange negotiations. Fake testimonies from released Russian prisoners are also expected. Russia will also try to whitewash the abduction of Ukrainian children by spreading messages about "rescue from hostilities.” In parallel, it will spread fakes about trafficking children to the West and using them for organs.>

And you can be assured that there are Putin water-carriers here on this board who will repeat and amplify the Kremlin propaganda and disinformation.

>As President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported, today among the categories of those who were able to be returned are the wounded and seriously wounded, as well as those younger than 25 years old. The vast majority of those returned had been in captivity since 2022, including those captured in the first days of the full-scale invasion. The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War informed that all those returned today from Russian captivity are members of the enlisted and non-commissioned officer ranks. It was also reported that for the first time military personnel from 46 units were released, from which no one had been returned before.<

The POW exchanges are now based on specific categories rather then numbers as had been past practice.

Among the most notable participants:

Alex Jones – American conspiracy theorist and founder of Infowars, known for spreading falsehoods and pro-Kremlin disinformation.
Errol Musk – Father of Elon Musk, who called Vladimir Putin “a very stable and pleasant man” while smiling through panels on youth militarization and praising Russia’s future wars of imperialism.
George Galloway – Former British MP, a long time fixture in pro-Russian media circuits.
Jackson Hinkle – U.S.-based influencer who openly supports Russia’s war in Ukraine.

These individuals were showcased across Russian state media as evidence that the “West” is beginning to see things Russia’s way. Sources with knowledge of the event logistics confirm that several of them were compensated for participation, receiving business-class flights, luxury hotel stays, and honorariums. In exchange, they lent their platforms—and their accents—to the Kremlin’s war messaging.
