Local news paper, shoppers guide or Armslist, sporting goods, 12 ga pump shotgun, no paperwork if you live in a free state and not a democrat/communist chithole. Thugs don’t sell shotguns, hard to conceal.

If your a female, go with 20 ga, still very good for social work. Cut the barrel down to 20 inches, google how to measure. Anything shorter than 18” is illegal without special permit.

You can buy a second barrel for hunting if you desire. Barrels are easy to change on pump shotguns, delivered through the mail, no problem.

Remington or mossberg, you can’t go wrong.

#4 buckshot, good close quarters self defense ammo.

Pay in cash, file off the serial number....
Filing off serial numbers is stupid, They can be raised with acid.

And there is no point in a legal sale, and cash is king, no private seller will accept a credit card or check, same with a used car.

I will take your word for it, I guess I was thinking old school.

Incredibly stupid.

Rich tends to throw nonsense out regularly.

IMO all guns should have an identifiable serial number and be registered to an individual.

Yes the gang bangers and stick up artists will have no problem going along with that.

Sales will then create an "audit trail" that can only assist with crime resolution.

Debatable how useful that would be for your stated purpose. And of course you lie when you claim that is the "only" purpose.

Well, he got the gun illegally....so we could trace how and perhaps arrest a corrupt dealer ?

Not much need for someone likely to be convicted of murder. The prior owner, if smart, could "discover" that the gun was missing and assume it to have been stolen.

If the prior owner was a dealer, or a known associate with the alleged killer, it would take more explaining.

A threat to the dealer's license and a threat to the liberty of a known associate in the face of an "assisting a felony" charge.
