The article linked to below by @Hamish Howl in post #1299 says that's the death toll on BOTH sides. The State of Israel is rapidly catching up in the atrocity race with Hamas.

Israel has threatened to drive them into the sea on a number of occasions.

Israel is not going to allow Hamas to maintain control or govern. They will push Hamas and any who support them out.

Israel has stated they believed leaving the Gaza Strip was an error. This attack on Israel will be all the justification they need to push the Palestinians out. Israel is not a state to be screwed with.

There are some Hamas leaders who live outside the country (Ismael Hineaya) who are not safe anymore. Kidon WILL find them.

What it appears they are going to do. Send the IDF into Gaza and shoot anyone that opposes them. It will be a long and bloody trek but they really have no choice now. What they cannot do is bomb Gaza to rubble and kill 2 million people.

No, they are not going to kill the civilians. They will push them out of the country. Probably into the Sanai.

No, I would not be okay with that.

They WILL kill Hamas members, leaders, and anybody who gets between them. Hamas marked themselves for death when they screwed with Israel. Israel took on three countries in that region at one time and kicked all of their asses. It's how Israel got the Gaza Strip and the Golan Heights, and a piece of Jordanian territory.

Things are going to get very ugly over there.

The will not. They will find and kill Hamas leadership and members. They will re-occupy the Gaza Strip. The leadership of Hamas is doomed. Members of Hamas are doomed.

They can't push 2 million people anywhere and certainly not into a desert. They will take control of Gaza and kill Hamas members and leadership. The bulk of the people of Gaza will remain.

Maybe. Yes, Israel can push them out. Their military is VERY capable. You are probably right.

Hamas is going to regret what it did.
