[W:1] MLB 2025

The Cubs introduce Sammy Sosa back to Wrigley for the 1st time in 21 years.
Marquee tv features ‘Elise’ reporting instead of announcers broadcasting the game.

Boyd almost had his head taken off today great catch.
Lots of good pitchers today/Friday, and hitters with HRs on them.
Three more games to start on the west coast, including the SD/LD row.
SEA and BOS were the only teams to be off yesterday, SEA won already.
CWS went to TOR which didn’t travel and kicked hot TOR ass.
Football score brewing in Colorado with 98 degrees and wind out.

Going to be a rough weekend for pitchers. The heat will be brutal in some places.

Cubs fielders just lost two in the wind.
After they launched two HRs to start the game.

Edit: From the Cub announcers of multiple, egregiously bad HP calls against SEA.

HP umps are the great equalizer, including in this heat and more-so in these day games.

Cubs up 10-6 top 6th inning as HP has to be replaced.

Wind out; two homers already; one each way; PC-A pops up with men on 2nd and 3rd no outs; you there?
#6 hitter Busch two RBIs to reach 41, compared to 43 for Ohtani and 60 for PC-A.
Windy few days- but I missed the SEA and MIL series- was up at Summerfest this weekend.

Going to catch the Cubs in Houston next Fri/Sat- hope they can take that tough series on the road. Houston is going to seem nice and temperate compared to this weekend…

Cora just got tossed in SF.
Lots of anger starting to boil over 3 wks out.

Having extra innings is awesome at 83 cents a day.
Seeing the kayakers in SF Bay, or your C McGwire get launched.

SEA and MIL are both in the mix in their divisions and league WCs.
MIL has some new pitchers but can only seem to hit on the road, like at MIN this weekend.
Fwiw, their IL rival Twins said the Brewers have hurt their Batter’s Eye at Miller.

Tough turnaround for (edit :18 not 16) of the teams today, especially the Mets, (edit: who played away at night) as teams limp into the ASB.
Young Acuna sent down as his brother comes to town, after the Alvarez demotion.

Chase Burns debuts for the Reds while the NYY pick up ‘4A-type’ pitcher Winans.

Every sport has its own unique set of injuries, like knees in 🏈
In ⚾️ it’s guys getting HBP’d on the area around the hands.

Corbin Carroll is the latest to hit the IL, hit by the CWS, who also hit E. Suarez on the hands area last night.
We’ve seen way too many of our batters getting HBP’d by bush league managers.
And HBP’s still don’t count on the WHIP.

Look at all the great players hit in RECENT years on the hands area who missed significant time.

Best name in baseball...

Mets' Newest Addition Is Really Named Dicky Lovelady...
HP Ump Porter completely missed a strike 3 by Kikuchi that would have ended the inning that was 💯 % inside the box.
Two balls later a BB fills the bases, then Story knocks two in on his 7th pitch, and the 3rd out took 5 pitches.
A total of 14 extra pitches for a clear miss that ends the inning.
Now, Kikuchi starts with 31 in the first.

And just like that, he's gone....
But Jansen Junk gets another start today.
The Mets host the only night game today, then start the first game tomorrow at PIT.

Small-market teams should resist mlb rushing their young arms for 📺
And being forced to trade these young arms to the prima donnas, ⚾️’s MO.

Kershaw 3 strikeouts away from 3k. He'll be able to do it at home, one presumes during his next start.

And the beat goes on...

Mets' Griffin Canning has ruptured Achilles, put on on 60-day IL

White Sox have Civale and Houser pitching well.

Been gardening thru this Nick Martinez no-hitter.
Here we go.
Edit: just like that he loses it.
