Violent protests force cancellation of speech by Breitbart's Milo Yiannopoulos[W:497]

Re: Violent protests force cancellation of speech by Breitbart's Milo Yiannopoulos at

The violent members of the mob were not arrested during the demonstration/protest/riot on campus so the responsibility belongs to everyone outside protesting

You are insane. And your denial of reality is noted, and appropriately laughed at. Now STFU and go away, you limp dickwad,

I have been banned from threads here for saying less than that

but don't know how to express it and would just prefer that he not speak at all

what anarchists?

No one knows who they were because the university allowed them to set fires and attack people without arresting them

So the identity of those students is unknown

The anarchists dressed in black hoodies and masks attacking the students.

They're called the Black Bloc and they've been around for decades...or at least their tactic has. They're usually a small group that show up at large peaceful demonstrations to create havoc..

Back in Black Bloc: The violent, ski-mask sporting protest group has resurged for the Trump age

You must be joking

local reports say it did

Oh, so only you and you alone have heard of Milo and know what he's really about and anyone who thinks otherwise is stupid, is that it?

So tell me...what exactly has Milo said that makes you think he's so intelligent and worth listening to?

Well, apparently a lot of people think he's worth listening to. Here's his response to the Berkeley protestors. It has 700,000 views, 51,000 likes, and 6,000 dislikes.

No silly...you said the "university supervised and consented to the rioting on school grounds." So where's your evidence?

He's in the news...of course he's going to get lots of views. Doh!

Milo is also famous for getting reddit trolls to post hundreds of likes. Not sure, but I think that's what got him banned from Twitter

Do you think that a citizen's right to free speech is dependent on the way others feel about the individual or his opinions?

<crickets> Where'd he go? Off to research Milo, perhaps?

The first amendment is a restriction on the government....not the people. The students have as much right to speak/protest against Milo as he does to spew his garbage.

This isn't Milo's first rodeo....college students in Canada and UK have protested against him, too. He's a very busy guy.

Because all too often students get indoctrination instead of education. Some recover with the passage of time, which explains why that as people get older they move to the right.

How so?

Of course it is the state that is restricted by the Constitution. That is why I pointed out that, while the screechers might not be breaking the Constitution, the screeching is certainly a symptom of poor socialization and undemocratic attitudes.

That or they just don't want a troll speaking at their school.

Then why did you ask me about a citizens right? Of course, free speech is a citizens right...that should go without saying.

I disagree...I think what you call 'screeching' aka protesting is part of our national heritage and democracy couldn't exist without it. Perhaps that's why it's numero uno in the Bill of Rights.

They're called the Black Bloc and they're a group of anarchists. Unmasking The Black Bloc: Who They Are, What They Do, How They Work | Occupy.com

They apparently do this sort of thing, and wear black clothing and masks. I'm sure students got into the fray because young people can be stupid and on a campus that large, there are bound to be assholes. But every picture I've seen shows the rioters dressed as the Black Bloc anarchists dress, and behaving as they have done many times in the past. I didn't see many rioters who were unmasked and whose faces were clear, which would be the case if these were simply student protestors.

Which would be the same thing, I should have thouhht. ;)

Not letting people speak their mind is not protesting or demonstrating. It is more akin to mob rule. Quite despicable, really.

Re: Violent protests force cancellation of speech by Breitbart's Milo Yiannopoulos at

I bet you'd have a very different opinion on this matter if the invited speaker were Anita Sarkeesian instead, and everything else had played out identically.

Nothing would have played out the same if she was the speaker.

Re: Violent protests force cancellation of speech by Breitbart's Milo Yiannopoulos at

Gotta wonder why Milo Yiannopoulos is worth all this effort. He's barely worth the effort of spelling his name!

Furthermore if people aren't able to freely exchange ideas then that kinda defeats of the object of a university as far as I'm concerned. The students at this university have been denied the opportunity to decide what is bull**** and what isn't for themselves. Why they are so enthusiastic about their own infantalisation I don't know. The real victim here isn't Yiannopoulos but the university as a whole.

But this was rioting, not protesting.

I don't know much about him really

He was on Fox News with Tucker Carlson after the student riot

He's homosexual which is unfortunate.

But the man is not pushing his sexual preference but rather espousing political views which are mostly conservative

When milo matches wits with liberals he more than holds his own so I don't know why anyone would think he is stupid.

Do you think he's stupid?
