No matter how much sugar coating they attempt to add....
No matter how many erroneous examples of countries supposedly are doing fine under it.....
In the end, this is what it looks like.....

That chavez would harm the country badly, was obvious from the beginning. He had a lot of money coming in from raw materials with which he was able to prop up his misbegotten policies for much longer than he otherwise could have.

Except for the fact that unlike ALL the first-world democracies (including America), Venezuela is NOT a modern, stable socialized democracy. Trying to use Venezuela as an example of socialism is like trying to use the Democratic People's Republic of Korea as an example of democracy and republicanism.
You know this already...but since the word "socialist" is SO doggone scary to you, you can't get yourself to look at how much you yourself have personally benefited from patently socialist programs in America, much less how great a part socialism plays in our national infrastructure.
Sad thing is the Venezuela population bought the **** he was selling hook line and sinker.
Venezuela’s democratic SOCIALIST façade has completely crumbled

Yeah, but so does facism, racism, sexism, ism-ism, and everything else. We're still capitalist at the end of the day. I was a socialist to some extent with my children, but I was a pure capitalist with my employees. My employees weren't surprised when I practiced a little socialism, and my children understood from the start that a quid pro quo was the norm. Your argument is vacuous. People can and do lift themselves up and better their lot in life here all the time, even now. People in Venezuela don't really have that option just now. Socialism actually might work at some point in the future as an economic system, but it's obvious that we're no where near that point right now.
Who lost in the Primaries.
This Time...............but then again we are not much better off with what we ended up with.
More conservatives at war with the dictionary. No surprises here.
I have no idea what you are ranting about, but I have been on this forum quite a while and seen my fair share of liberals defending Chavez.
they will likely rather not be reminded of that now though.
And let's not forget his boot licking in Cuba.
Regressives see absolutely nothing wrong with this photo. Any surprises there?
There comes a time when good men MUST defend their way of life against enemies foreign and domestic.
Or accept their place as the oppressed and as servants to tyrants.

Venezuela is an actual socialist country. Government has nationalized most major businesses. It is the real thing. The same can be said for N Korea. When you have the economy actually managed by the government, this is what you get. Remember it also failed in the USSR and China, both of which are now capitalist countries.
