Vance is a jerk

If Trump loses, I genuinely think Vance will go down in history as the worst VP candidate pick ever.

[Whole lotta edits since this got likes]

Even worse than Palin?

I feel chastised by history. I feel the fool for what I did. But I was actually considering a McCain vote before he picked Palin. Then it was .....nooooo nope nope nope, Obama. I think McCain would've been a good president if backed by a similar VP. No crazy Tea Party shit. Willing to buck his own party for the right thing. A path back to a calmer more cooperative future (the most important part), after the idiotic invasion of Iraq produced justifiable rage and those silly "Bush is Hitler" signs and mentalities.

If I'm right in that assessment, then I think Palin was the worst pick and Vance the second worst.

I will say this. He's more dangerous. Because he's not an idiot. He knows exactly what he's doing. And what he is doing is evil.

I think he was a better pick than Palin. The VP debate was probably the point at which the momentum started to shift back in favor of Trump, after Biden dropped out and Trump fumbled his own debate. Every time Trump himself gets a lot of attention (debate, MSG rally), he puts his foot in his mouth. So if Trump wins, I think a good argument could be made that Vance deserves a lot of credit.

But I agree he is a total jerk. He is also a champion smooth talker and gaslighter.

Perhaps not at a political level, but as a whole? Yeah. Palin was a very stupid, irresponsible person. But she was not a mendacious fascist who engaged in blood libel. J.D. Vance is.

That's a bold claim. We'll see how things pan out starting in about 24 hours!

Here's the thing: When Tim Walz was picked, if you were following the polls then, you could argue that Kamala Harris wasn't on solid ground. At least one poll showed Trump was up, and she was mostly ahead in low single digits, so maybe she picked Walz to shore that up.

However, at the time and still, Trump was leading by double digits in Ohio. Barring some really stupid event or series of events (the polls show that Trump would need more than a few the migrants-eating-pet-level debacles), there was no way he was going to lose Ohio. So why? My theory is that Trump's always picked his VP candidates as insurance. As in, "You think I'm bad? Wait until you get rid of me and have to deal with HIM" kind of insurance. Trump was definitely on the money with Pence, and seems to be on the money with Vance. I also don't know what other options that kind of fit this "insurance" thing were available. Haley? Too moderate. DeSantis? Would overshadow Trump. Etc.

Vance just called Kamala Harris “trash”…. that should go over Big with women
The only thing that's going to be trash is America for choosing him.

If he didn’t act like a Nazi, and support Nazis, he wouldn’t be called a Nazi.
Hitler called the Jews, vermin and Trump calls immigrants vermin. Scapegoating a group is how it begins.
