USA Today Names a Man One of Its ‘Women of the Year'

Man women are taking a beating lately. First the smartest Jeopardy player is really a dude, and now the man of the years is really a dude.
NYUK NYUK NYUK
Aren't there any smart women out there? Any achievers?

But Im talking culturally, as with this award. Why is a woman different such that deserve a special recognition, but when it comes to other areas of life, they are the same? Man, woman, trans, are we equal or not?
There are also "man of the year" awards. The categories we choose to divide ourselves into and recognize are arbitrary. As a gender abolitionist, I don't see an issue with people getting together and choosing to celebrate something about gender if that's what they want to do.

The goal is to redefine gender by eliminating definitions of the word that do not fit that political objective.
I don't get it though. What's the political objective beyond just...accepting trans people? Is that it?

Generally in progressive spaces man/woman refers to gender and male/female is sex, so it's not like the concept of biological sex is gone or something.

If it isn't hurting me or others, what's the problem. Oh right, some people can't handle their own hatred.

Democrats are sick filthy degenerates. trannies, sodomites, baby-killers . . . they are the enemy of all that is good, and worse than that they molest the minds of children in schools to follow in their sick depraved footsteps.

This story is just another example of that despicable fact:

Oh, hey, Steve.

Nor do I, but im exploring the philisophical problem. If gender doesnt matter, then why does it matter? On the one hand gender matters for awards. On the other hand, gender doesnt matter for sports, or marriage, or pay, etc. WHat makes this man a woman for the purposes of the award?

If gender doesnt matter, then why does it matter?
Well it doesn't matter to me, but it matters to other people. I think it is meaning if other people find meaning in it. In the same way I understand religion is meaningful even if I personally don't find any meaning from it.

On the other hand, gender doesnt matter for sports, or marriage, or pay, etc. WHat makes this man a woman for the purposes of the award?
Well because she is a woman. This is a award for women. She isn't a man. She has male biology, but she's a women so there is no issue giving her this award.

The Democratic mainstream of voters want him. The Democratic mainstream are center-right moderate liberals. Not Leftists.
LOL Are these the same "mainstream" voters that voted for the leftists, Biden? I forgot, Biden is a centrist.

What part of the article says center right moderate liberals.
There is more political groups (moderate, liberal, progressive, right of center, left of center, etc, etc.) than genders.

The only reason Biden won is because Trump ran for re-election. Not because Leftists like him.

I'd really like to know how the existence of transgender people hurts those, who so vehemently oppose them.
They NEVER can give you an honest answer other than "because they are icky!"

Lots of vitriol over a Time Person of the Year.

Transsexual is such a trigger to some.

So why is it that any time there is any complaint about someone who is transgender getting recognition, it is always a transgender woman being complained about? And generally (not always, but I have noticed) it is going to be a cisgender man telling women that they should somehow feel slighted about such a thing occurring.

I noticed that no one ever seems to complain about Billy Tipton or James Barry or Albert Cashier. There has even been at least one transgender man who has competed against other men.

Well the most philosophically consistent definition would be self identification. For example, what makes someone a gamer? Is it someone who plays games? Well there are plenty of people who play games that don't consider themselves gamers. Is it after you play a certain number of games? Do board games count? What about people who don't have time to play games but still consider themselves gamers? The only consistent definition is people who consider themselves gamers. I apply the same general logic to genders. Male, female, non-binary, Neo-pronouns, whatever.

And to be clear, gender currently very much matters socially. I would argue it shouldn't and that there shouldn't be any social prescriptions projected onto people based on labels that are applied to them; but that's not the world we live in.
