USA is #1 now

Trying to open the economy up by Easter is irresponsible. Trump isn’t taking the pandemic seriously. He is mostly concerned with his own power and with the economy

The dollar is all that matters over there so doubtless Trump will indeed open the economy by Easter despite the consequences. I expect US casualties per million to be the highest in the world once this finally blows over :(

The dollar is dead.....and soon....The New Chinese Empire will be sure of that!

Rather meaningless to make such a comparison.

Look at Italy - only 1,000 behind the US with a population less than a quarter that of America.

Why is it you Brits feel the need to chime about things you know nothing about or just join the endless parade of left wing Trump hate that we already have an overabundance of? Why not add something useful and describe how things are going over there?

Nonsense. Selfish greed trumps everything in the US its the basis of your societies whole existence. The cost in lives will be inconsequential compared to that :(

It's incredible to think that out of 195 countries in the world, this disease has made it to 190 of them. Modern travel has helped more than just people get around unfortunately.

Better blame planes, not people

For some people it's overly hard to change behavior fast enough.

The New Chinese Empire has Russia and their orbit and Iran and on this matter all of OPEC is ready to go...... plus Europe is falling apart and hates Trump and most of what we have done over the last 30 years so is ready to do as the Chinese demand.....the dollar is over.....the sooner you wake up the better.

I couldnt care less about Trump. He is just the latest incompetent you've voted into office. Things arent going well at all over here and are set to get a lot worse in the coming weeks due to the density of our population

Sort of like TDS sufferers who do nothing but bash the POTUS every minute of every day- its like the coronavirus of the mind...

The OP is an example of the insantity TDS brings.

The chart shows the USA has one of the lowest death rates per infected in the world per population.

Yes, many Democrats are truly furious and beside themselves that not enough Americans are dying - and yes - they blame Trump for this.

Just for now, but guess what happens when states run out of capacity.

That was our downfall.Do you know how many people fly all over the world to and from this country. Not to mention the travel inside this country. But the main factor was China lied and sent the virus worldwide. This proves how just how uncaring the Chinese government is that they would intentionally cause so many deaths world wide. Then we are supposed to believe what their government says.

But we should believe what any government says without question? Look at Trump for example. Lie after lie after lie. Then there's the traditional animosity between opposing ideologies to consider, where China distrusts the West and vice versa and both accuse each other of lying etc.

Look up Gad Saad....."Idea Pathogens".

Unlike me for sure he figured this out years ago, and spoke up about this grave threat to humanity.

Oh look. Another Brit with nothing to add but Trump hate and anti-Americanism. Cant one of you cookie-cutter leftists stand out from the crowd and say something unique?

Long way to go to catch Italy's 8,000 and something deaths

Look at China. Fewer cases, four times the population.

Based on the data coming out of China. And you suck it up like a good little koolaid drinker. Democrats are blind and gullible when it comes to China.

There's definitely fault to be laid at the feet of China for the lack of transparency early on, but either way there's a strong likelihood it was going to get out of the country and spread. Modern travel's great for people, and the microbes that travel with us. The one thing though, is China did take pretty severe measures in attempting to contain the virus, so I don't put much stock in their having some intention of this being a global spread. Governments tend to not want to panic the markets and the public, and I suspect that was a likely cause in keeping things quiet; a message reiterated here when the virus was mainly a problem only in China.

Let's hope we don't. But it will take our continued commitment to social distancing and taking this crisis seriously in order to keep those numbers low.

Yeah. My cousin's got the virus now. A month ago, I doubted it would affect anyone I know. It's getting crazy.

I hope your cousin recovers quickly. I felt the threat getting closer as more and more information started coming in about people I knew in other companies who knew people in their workspace who tested positive. The day before I started working from home they announced the first two positive employees in our company; mind you it's a large media company, but people are in and out of the multiple buildings. Just yesterday we received word that someone on the floor above mine tested positive and had been in contact with people (meetings) on my floor and the one below.
