US Special Forces Deploy To Mexico For "Training" Mission Following Spy Plane SIGINT Operations

The US occupied Mexico’s most important port for nearly a decade.
Seeing as Pancho Villa’s territory was literally on the other side of the country, that didn’t do much to help hunt him down.

So, I didn't state “heart wasn’t in the invasion”.

You made shit up again.
So, as usual you lack the spine to face the reality that the US absolutely “was in earnest” when it invaded Mexico....and failed.

MAGAs can be conned so easily.

It's actually sad. They're adults.

I am not responsible for words you create out of thin air.
You claimed:

“When the US last invaded the nation of Mexico in earnest the US ended up with much of what is now the Southwest.”

That is a falsehood. The last time the US invaded Mexico in earnest it failed miserably to achieve its objectives and flailed around in the desert fighting Villa’s enemies as much as they did the people they were hunting.

You continue to lie about what I say.

Why?

If you are talking about the expedition into Mexico later not so successful. That was also over a century ago.
You are too spineless to stand by your own words, as usual.

You're right in one sense. The root problem is America's never ending desire for illegal drugs and the lack of political will to make it stop. It's like drunk driving. People say they care, but they do it themselves all the time.

The only way you are stopping the desire for drugs is by turning America into a fascist police state.

So what? You asked what happened the last time America invaded Mexico and I gave the correct answer. We occupied their most important port for nearly a decade.

So the only way they could have gotten further from Villa is if they’d decided to plunge into the Yucatán for some reason. Which would have been idiotic given how insurgent filled(even by Mexican standards) and completely empty of anything of military value the Yucatán was in the early twentieth century.

You are aware Pancho Villa was opposed to the Mexican government, right? The US flailing around and failing miserably to catch him so it engages in a bit of extra imperialism to make itself feel better is not exactly a sign of “victory”.

Are you claiming Villa was the sole reason for the US invasion of Mexico?

Oh, I’m sure the US wasn’t exactly heartbroken to do a little bit of “liberating” on the side, but US utterly failing to catch Villa means the point of the invasion was not accomplished. The US failed militarily, just as it will fail when it starts bombing Mexico nowadays.

Failed so much Mexico’s ability to import and export goods was under US control for a decade.

The US didn’t go to war to “control Mexico’s ability to import and export goods”.

The US went to war to try and catch Pancho Villa for raiding American territory.

The US military failed to do so. Utterly.

America invaded Mexico to help ensure their chosen side in the Mexican civil war would win, and they did.

America invaded Mexico to hunt down the guy who’d raided into America and failed miserably. They spent as much time fighting their chosen side of the civil war as they did flailing around looking for Villa.

So you are once again back to claiming America’s sole reason for invading Mexico was to catch Villa?

I did some checking, and the US occupation of Veracruz actually predates the expedition to try and capture Villa.

Hmm. So much for your argument.

So the US was already invading and occupying Mexico before the expedition to catch Villa? That would still make the Veracruz invasion the “last time the US invaded Mexico”.

The US was occupying Veracruz before Villa launched his raids into the US which means you going “we took their main port!” in reaction to the raids rather laughable.

Uh...no, the last time the US invaded Mexico would still be the expedition that failed to catch Villa. The US invaded Veracruz because a bunch of American sailors wandered into a fuel storage area and America demanded an apology and twenty one gun salute for the Mexicans daring to arrest them.

"America demanded an apology and twenty one gun salute for the Mexicans daring to arrest them. "

They got a lot more than that.
Yeah, America really showed the Mexicans what happens when you arrest American military personnel for blundering into a restricted area.
