US Navy warship sidelined with COVID-19 outbreak

The U.S. Navy says one of its warships has paused its deployment to South America because of a coronavirus outbreak.

The Navy said in a statement that the ship’s crew is “100% immunized” and that all of those who tested positive for COVID-19 have been isolated on the ship away from other crew members. The number of crew testing positive was not disclosed. The ship has a crew of a little more than 100.

The Navy said that “a portion” of those infected are having mild symptoms, and that the specific variant is not yet known. COVID-19 cases have surged across the country as a result of the highly contageous omicron variant.

But Anatta never quoted Biden, to my knowledge. So who does she expect to engage here? It’s gotta get boring after the six hundredth “Ha! Vaxxing doesn’t stop the spread” thread only to get “Yeah, no shit” over and over again in response.

the entire ship is vaxxed. many are in quarantine. Having the entire ship vaccinated is a model
to show vaxxing doesnt stop the spread

so quit the closings, mandates, lockdowns and mask mandates
 
I expect these outbreaks will be everywhere in a week. Just imagine how many holiday gatherings will cause spread. But I'm thinking omicron spread might be the best thing possible. Spread of a mild illness, providing natural immunity to masses, might end up being very good news.

POTUS was inaccurate and referring to previous variants; his repeated admonitions to get vaccinated are still quite valid considering the data on hospitalizations and death, which will be apparent (again) in a few weeks. The only problem I have with current guidance is that it doesn't go far enough - the definition of completely vaxxed should be mRNA vaxx X 3.

Because respiratory specialists are tired of working on the dumb ****ers who believe the kind of shit your posting and are beginning to quit in record numbers - that's why. That's also why cancer patients and heart attack victims aren't going to get the kinds of care they need.

not being a virologist, but hearing many times virus tend to mutate to less virulency and more infectuous
seems to be happening . that makes it endemic instead of a pandemic

Let's just hope SCOTUS reaches a helpful ruling in Jan, following their hearing oral arguments on the 7th. That way, we might see the beginning of the end to mandates. A much needed turn in direction.

It's only "mild" because a majority of people have had at least some exposure to the virus. It's not going to be that mild for people who are unvaccinated or who are vulnerable and undervacinated.

I wouldn't worry about.If The Chinese plan to attack us they will tell Mark Milley before they do Biden.

im sure as well. But Omnicron is easily infected everywhere -vaxxed or non-vaxxed
