* Congress, staff, to keep federal health premium payments

* Ruling aimed at avoiding "brain drain" on Capitol Hill (Adds comments from Republicans, Pelosi, edits)

By David Lawder

WASHINGTON, Aug 7 (Reuters) - Congress has won some partial relief for lawmakers and their staffs from the "Obamacare" health reforms that it passed and subjected itself to three years ago.

In a ruling issued on Wednesday, U.S. lawmakers and their staffs will continue to receive a federal contribution toward the health insurance that they must purchase through soon-to-open exchanges created by President Barack Obama's signature healthcare law.

The decision by the Office of Personnel Management, with Obama's blessing, will prevent the largely unintended loss of healthcare benefits for 535 members of the Senate and House of Representatives and thousands of Capitol Hill staff.

Too late! The brains were drained long ago. There's no other rational explanation for the circus of Washington. Have you seen any sign of a brain there?

So not only have buisnesses been relieved of having to abide by the Mandate but now Congress is also relieved of it. Leaving only the regular folks having to foot the bill.

Why do we have Obamacare again?

Congress is not exempt from ObamaCare. They must purchase their insurance through the exchanges. All this did was allow their employer to cover part of the cost, like many other employers do. Your complaining about something you don't understand.

Why do we have Obamacare again?

1 Businesses haven't been relieved of the mandate. They had a one year extension to cooperate.

2. Congress hasn't been relieved of the mandate either. They must purchase a plan through the exchanges. This only allows their employer to pay for some of the premiums as many other employers do. But it does not make them exempt from ObamaCare.
