The genocide in Africa is not a comparable situation. Those are largely tribal/civil wars in which helping the victims would probably just turn them into the aggressor. That has been, at least, some of the current thinking on the matter.

Actually the current thinking on that matter has been, "They have no resource or political advantage for the U.S. to go in there, so we won't".

My comment about Africa was mainly in response to Conservative's (the poster) appeal to emotion about 7.8 million Israelis surrounded b Arabs as the reason we should help those poor poor souls.
