I get what you meant. It's accurate, imo. They both can be the product of bad choices. Always going for the burger, not the chicken. Skip the salad, have fries instead. Walking past the apple on the way to get more Doritos.
Like so much else in life, it's what you choose to do with the time and opportunities you're given.
(Edit: I'm speaking strictly within the US; world huger and nutrition issues are another matter.)
I think the comment has to do with putting metal in the microwave.
I see you have no sense of humor. That being the case I didn't really put a can of soup in the microwave and neither did you despite your poorly worded anecdote.
More probably you lack an understanding of nutrition.
I see. Would capitalism be blamed for the hunger and deaths, then? In the cases your talking about. This case was pretty much government funded, kinda like a private socialism experiment? That is not really much of an example compared to the death of millions due to starvation and related diseases. He is not giving the food away he is gaining government subsidies and pricing his food accordingly.
In contrast.

The problem is not with those who grow the food or those who feed people such as the restaurateur in your link. The problem is with those who profit from distributing food. An example of that is to ask anyone to rationalise the bendy banana law.

Interesting little factoid. According to worldometer we have twice as many overweight people (1.7 Billion) as those who are undernourished (850M), and roughly the same number of obese (750M).

I find that to be a very odd imbalance. But, it does suggest that well over half the people on the planet are fed just the right amount. So, we’ve kind of succeeded in solving global hunger..

When it's free they can eat like swineWhat do you think all those fat welfare sad sacks are buying with their EBT cards at Burger King? Healthy meals????

Like I said... I see you have no sense of humor. And your snark skills aren't very sharp either.Or maybe it was as a comment it was more stupid than clever.
Unless you serously think people buy fast food because they are too stupid to operate a microwave .

You're kind of disconnected from this conversation.OK, well, opinions vary. I think my sense of humor is fine. I just have no use for this conversation.
And yet you did both to me when you labeled my post as "more stupid than clever".I’m not a big fan of demeaning people’s intelligence. Or their sense of humor.
My point stands also. You can't heat up a can of soup in microwave.Regardless of all the yuks my point still stands Mr Jokey McJokerson. You can buy a can of soup for $2. I’m reasonably confident the people you look down on so much can handle a microwave. But if you can’t you can eat it cold I guess. No one eats at Burger King because it’s the cheapest option because.......it isn’t.
I would rather blow my brains out than be a welfare loser.
Would you rather give them a gun, so they can do it.....I would rather blow my brains out than be a welfare loser.
I see a lot of Right Wingers decry welfare who collect plenty from Social Security and government provided healthcare like Medicare. One small-government promoting poster constantly decries everything others receive as "socialism" and then brags about the free medical he receives for once having held a government job.Would you rather give them a gun, so they can do it.....
Come on, guy!!!! You have never taken anything for free? Did you take the stimulus money?

I never understood the anger of those living comfortably.LOL! My wife and I didn't qualify for the stimulus money. You realize you would have to have an adjusted gross income below $160,000 (married filing jointly) to qualify, right?
...

I believe we are obese because of all the poison they feed everyone. Take a look at all the additives the food in your cabinets are infused with. Its not just cookies and treats that are junk food. Almost everything we eat in this country is junk.Interesting little factoid. Yeah, it takes a concerted effort to avoid junk. We do pretty good because the wife is a stay at home cook who makes most of our meals from scratch. However, whenever I travel, I almost always gain a few pounds, mostly due to salt and water retention. COVID has been a benefit though, since it forced me to take coolers filled with good food along so as to avoid venturing out to restaurants after working.I believe we are obese because of all the poison they feed everyone.
