"An off-duty undercover New York City police officer was among the crowd of motorcyclists on the scene as SUV driver Alexian Lien was beaten on Sunday, officials confirmed to ABC News today....
He was a motorcyclist who was there on his own time,
How can a cop be be undercover and off duty?
Oh. So he wasn't really undercover.
Apparently, that motorcycle gang were trouble where ever they went.

That group of bikers is lucky. If that was me behind the wheel of an SUV vs a bunch of bikers looking to do that there would be much more than one in the hospital. I do not necessarily blame the cop for not bursting out. He was already on the scene of a group of outlaw bikers who were hunting a person down to gang beat him. He might have done some good, and he might have ended up in the same situation. I feel really bad for the people in the car because it was clear this gang went out to find a victim and antagonized a situation to the point where they put a family at risk. When you get to that point in the crazy road game you do not give. Cops have rules which is why you pull over for them, but you never pull over for someone else. Had they met someone like me I would have been going for score. You are on a bike, I have a car, you are getting hurt. I have played road warrior with other cars before, and there would be no fear in hitting a bike on a homicidal race. I don't know what those guys are thinking, but i would have played see how many bounces i can get before the final skid of blood.
So he should've just blown his cover, putting himself and his family in danger, to inject himself into a fight that still would've been 2 on 20-30?
Yeah, I don't blame him. If you remember the supreme court ruling, the police has no obligation to protect you, that's up to you and you alone.
You can be off duty while remaining undercover and in character. Maybe he had somebody with him.
Are you seriously misinformed enough to think that all undercover cops at the end of the day go home to their families and become their real selves again?
lemme guess. You'll do something like this? LOL

The undercover narcotics cop did not intervene in the beating out of fear that his cover would be blown, sources said."
It further reads:
"The information is part of the ongoing investigation by the NYPD and the Manhattan district attorney into the confrontation and beating that happened Sunday afternoon between a group of 20 to 30 motorcyclists and Lien, caught on video and uploaded to the Internet.
The officer's involvement is also the subject of an Internal Affairs investigation, sources said."
Uh oh, someone is in trouble!

May have cut someone off, encroached in someones lane, not yielded to one of them, looked at a few the wrong way. Whatever the reason of the day could be.Why was the driver of the SUV targeted?
I have seen this group of riders before. There are tons of them.

Undercover officer arrested in probe of New York motorcycle gang beating | Reuters
(Reuters) - An undercover New York detective was arrested on Tuesday for his alleged role in the attack on an SUV driver who was chased for miles along a Manhattan highway by dozens of motorcycle riders, police said.....
Braszczok was charged on Tuesday with riot and criminal mischief, the New York City Police Department said. Local News 4 New York reported that Braszczok was off duty at the time of the incident, and had surrendered to police with his attorney.......read..."
Then why was he arrested yesterday?A private citizen did intervene and neither he nor his life is in danger. That driver is facially disfigured and could have been killed - and probably would have as he was being slashed had that one person not intervened.
What is the point of an undercover cop if he is going to just watch someone get murdered?
OH, that's right, I get it! The goal of his being undercover was hoping to find drug dealing so the police could seize money and motorcycles to sell for more money. It has NOTHING to do with protecting anyone, just about how to get money.
And it would appear his cover is blown now anyway, huh?
What we learned is that the purpose of the undercover cop had NOTHING do to with the public or saving lives. It had to do only with how cops can get more money.

I rode for a long time, sometimes with badder boys than those video punks ever hope to be and never had anything like that happen.
Then why was he arrested yesterday?
Because while he was "undercover" at the time of the incident. He was not on case, he was on his private time. And he should have had the guts to interviene either way.
He just had to stop a fight, not pull his badge and gun. There is a word for guys like that. Begins with P ends with Y.
Pony?
Why was the driver of the SUV targeted?
 In the Mossad, you can actually help engage in a terrorist act in order to infiltrate the group that you need to report on.
It's deeply unfortunate, but I can see why he made the call he did.
