Israel vaccinated its population almost exclusively with the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine, which received full FDA approval on Monday and remains the gold standard for the prevention of severe illness due to the coronavirus.

But in early July, with citizens over the age of 60 almost completely vaccinated, Israeli scientists began observing a worrisome rise in infections—if not in severe illness and death—among the double-vaccinated.

And this.
——
Dr. Anthony Fauci and the rest of President Biden's COVID advisors have been proven wrong about "the science" of COVID vaccines yet again. After telling Americans that vaccines offer better protection than natural infection, a new study out of Israel suggests the opposite is true: natural infection offers a much better shield against the delta variant than vaccines.

The study was described by Bloomberg as "the largest real-world analysis comparing natural immunity - gained from an earlier infection - to the protection provided by one of the most potent vaccines currently in use." A few days ago, we noted how remarkable it was that the mainstream press was finally giving voice to scientists to criticize President Biden's push to start doling out booster jabs.

Natural immunity means antibodies from a previous infection. Those who have had Covid are more protected than those who had the vaccine. That makes sense. Simple, common sense. After all, someone who had Covid encountered the actual virus and not a pseudo-virus designed as a preparation.

The greatest omission in this current wave of anti-vaxxer bs is that those who have survived Covid are more safe when they have also been vaccinated.

In conclusion, according to the article: both those who have had Covid and those who have not should be vaccinated.

The largest conclusion to draw from the article is: even those who have had Covid need to get vaccinated.

Cool. I'll take my Delta infection on top of my vaccine. It'll be nice knowing that I'm 10 times less likely to die or land in the hospital than I would have been had I not gotten vaccinated.

Even if one has had Covid, one reduces the likelihood of serious symptoms by being vaccinated.

I agree, but if this data holds up, it's perfectly reasonable for any vaccine mandates that are in place to make allowance for those who have previously been infected.

Also, I was saying back in January that we probably could have saved hundreds if not thousands of lives by putting previously infected people at the back of the line while vaccines were in short supply in the US. I guess I was right.

The data from the article cited in OP is conclusive. Being vaccinated reduces the likelihood of serious symptoms in both those previously infected and those not previously infected.

The article may conclude that transmission is less likely as well.

In conclusion: if someone had Covid, they should still be vaccinated. That's what the article says.

The data shows that a previous infection is better at preventing a Delta infection than a vaccination. So previously-infected people should not be treated worse than vaccinated people. They essentially got vaccinated the hard way. The vaccines should be saved for people who have not been infected before.

So is your conclusion the vaccine is making them develop the virus months later?

Being previously infected is not as safe as being previously infected and vaccinated. Previously infected people and those not previously infected are in the same boat: vaccination improves their chances of survival and reduces their chance of infection and transmission.

The article concludes: everyone needs to be vaccinated. Vaccination benefits every individual and thus the whole.

That is why all sincere people on both sides of this issue should be HUMBLE!!!

We simply do not know all that there is to know yet!!!

Why, oh why, do some people on both sides have to be so cocksure???

It only makes the other side dig in their heels.

It's moronic to place medical science on the same footing as conspiracy theory. That's apologizing for conspiracy theory.

I agree, but there aren't enough vaccines for "every individual."

Vaccine mandates are not about protecting the individual. They are about protecting the whole. As vaccinations improve the safety of both the previously infected and not previously infected, it follows that both (for the good of public heath) must be vaccinated.

It's absurd to tell one group: you don't have to improve your safety for the good of the whole. Everyone needs to improve their safety and everyone can and everyone should.

Safety up. Everyone.

Some people are simply asking questions that have nothing to do with "conspiracies."

For example, questions about natural immunity.

Using words such as "moronic" only turns people off.

Covid IMHO is Mother Natures first real salvo to thin out humanity out for its crimes against the natural world. The next assault will be much worse ..she's gonna kick our teeth in and the truth is, we deserve everything that's coming our way. I'm at peace with it.

All one has to do when reading an OP that selectively choses one or two lines from an article, is to read the WHOLE article, to get what the article is really about and not to be led by the nose by the slant the OP wants to put on the article, example:

Israel was forced to make quick decisions and in a time of great uncertainty. Levine was among the public health officials who expressed doubts about the wisdom of Israel’s untested move towards nationwide booster vaccination, but he told The Daily Beast that the latest statistics, showing that only 0.2 of the first 1.1 million recipients of the third jab were infected with the coronavirus, proved it had been a “brave decision.”

Read all of it, so you won't be misled about what the article really says.

It's weird that you would quote my statement that we don't have enough vaccines for everyone, and then totally ignore it.

lol

This is a debate forum. Who do you think you're fooling?

I understand that debates in English universities are the very sole of propriety and good manners.

It would nice if more Americans would emulate them.

It would be nice if more Americans didn't cowardly push bs conspiracy theories by pretending to "only ask questions".

We know conspiracy theorists push their bs via argument from ignorance. We already know that.

The bottom line to be scientific is some realities and information change. Most studies are searching for an absolute truth. It usually goes something like this>>>>>
"We know there's a house somewhere. It's in the USA....we know it's in Florida....we know it's in Miami...we know it's address...we know the size of the house..we just don't know the color of the house or how many people live there but we're trying to find all that out."

Man anti-vaxxers are either getting lazy or are so dumb that they dont know the world around them. This is OLD ass news.

Israel has been the testing ground for BionTech from the start, and it is from here we can get most of the information about effectiveness, since that was one of the stipulations the Israel government had to sign when they were one of the first in the world to get the vaccine. Thanks to Israels co-operation with BionTech (a German company), they managed to roll out one of the most successful early vaccination programs out there.. but this program has slowed down considerably once past 50%... like it happens in many countries. In fact Israel has now been passed by places like the UAE, Spain, Denmark and a number of other countries including the UK. Seems Israel has the same "idiots" as everyone else and is struggling to get the ultra conservative types vaccinated, which is causing strains yet again on their hospital systems ... like every where else.

When the Delta varaint hit, Israel was one of the first places outside India that got hit. We got information on spread and infection rates early and they have pretty much accurate across the board when comparing to other nations. The only variation is the difference is lock-down policies and the "idiot" part of the population.

What the data clearly shows, much to the anti Vax communities ire.. is that yes there are breakthrough cases and there can be many when it comes to Delta, but deaths are wayyyyyy down among those who are fully vaccinated. Hospitalizations and ICU admissions among vaccinated is low. Comparing the last wave to the present in Israel shows similar infection numbers, but death numbers are way lower. And in most cases the deaths are among the un-vaccinated.

This trend has been shown all over the world. Even the UK, who is having a hard time breaking the back of the delta infection, is showing far lower death rates than at similar infection rates earlier in the year or last year. Their problem, is like the US and Israel and many other countries... the un-vaccinated who are filling up hospitals and ICUs yet again.

The only conclusion is that vaccines work and reduce the death numbers considerably and those people who are a threat to society are the Anti-Vax crowd... they are the ones promoting the spread and deaths that are happening now.

The data shows that a previous infection is better at preventing a Delta infection than a vaccination.

Which data exactly shows that? Can you quote it please?

It only makes the other side dig in their heels.

Science.

If you have science on your side your likelihood of being correct increases exponentially .
