I mean, our Southern states are so ****ed. I'm not sure I could list all the ways (from Medicaid cuts to the eventual Medicare cuts to no FEMA during hurricanes to no workers in the fields, to higher prices, etc).

It's complete madness.

"Senator Mitch McConnell has long been a fixture in American politics, representing Kentucky since 1985 and serving as Senate Majority Leader for several years. His reported net worth exceeds $30 million."

He will also have lifetime healthcare paid for by MAGAs on this board (and the rest of us too).

As long as there are Trans Kids to hate on... he is right.

That phrase can lead to a wikipedia entry and a good little bit of merchandise being sold to mock the person who said it. I know from experience.

The news of this extension was delivered to the ship's crew on New Year's morning, by the then battle group commander, Rear Admiral Kelly, with the phrase, "We don't need to be home holding our loved ones, we need to be here holding the line. Get over it!". The term "Get over it" became a running joke aboard ship, which eventually led to a deployment patch made aboard that read "Westpac 2003 CVN-72 CVW-14 GET OVER IT", with an image intended to depict an admiral kicking a sailor in the groin.[14]

Middle class or poor, the anti-American racist pukes who voted this bastard in again deserve what they get (or don't get). Payback's a mofo.

I only feel bad for all of us who were, intelligent, patriotic and caring enough not to vote for the lying con man cowardly loser with the 'bone spurs'. Mitch is scum, always was, just like his king trump.

McConnell could care less, his career is over. He is just going to just keep vomiting nonsense for attention….

Mitch McConnell’s net worth is a measly $35 million. If that is “uber rich” to you then your account books must be a financial horror show.

Hope I live to see the day these turds are dragged from their ivory towers.

What exact cuts to Medicaid are being proposed?

What exact cuts to Medicaid are being proposed?
AI Overview

The "Big, Beautiful Bill," also known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, includes significant cuts to Medicaid funding. The House version of the bill, which has already passed, would reduce federal Medicaid spending by an estimated $793 billion over ten years, leading to an estimated 10.3 million fewer people enrolled in Medicaid by 2034.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
  • Overall Spending Cuts:
The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that the bill would reduce federal Medicaid spending by $793 billion over ten years.

  • Enrollment Reductions:
These cuts would result in a projected 10.3 million fewer people enrolled in Medicaid by 2034, according to the CBO.

  • Work Requirements:
A major driver of these cuts is the bill's inclusion of work and reporting requirements for adults eligible for Medicaid through the ACA expansion.

  • Impact on Individuals:
The KFF reports that 18.5 million people would be subject to these work requirements annually, and 5.2 million adults are expected to lose Medicaid coverage by 2034.

  • Loss of Coverage:
CBO also projects that the work requirements will increase the number of uninsured individuals by 4.8 million by 2034.

  • Impact on Dual-Eligibles:
The bill would also affect those eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid, with 1.3 million fewer people enrolled in Medicaid by 2034, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF).

  • Reduced Access to Care:
The Medicaid cuts would likely reduce access to healthcare for many, particularly those in rural areas and those needing long-term care services.

So, considerably less than a 10% reduction, fueled mostly by long-overdue work requirements. What a tragedy!

From "what cuts?" to "I love the cuts!" in less time than it takes to eat a taco.

Truly, an argument made in good faith on your part.

2/3 of Medicaid recipients are already working and most jurisdictions already have strict work requirements in place.
The goal isn't to get Medicaid recipient's working, the goal is to shore up funds for the the top 1%'s juicy tax cut.
