Uber rich Mitch McConnel's comments on the massive Medicaid cuts (that will affect tons of MAGAs): "They'll Get Over It".

2/3 of Medicaid recipients are already working and most jurisdictions already have strict work requirements in place.
The goal isn't to get Medicaid recipient's working, the goal is to shore up funds for the the top 1%'s juicy tax cut.

4 million ABAWDs are on Medicaid and working less than 80 hours per week. Many more are on Medicaid and not working full time.

From "what cuts?" to "I love the cuts!" in less time than it takes to eat a taco.

Truly, an argument made in good faith on your part.

That's about the amount of time it took to read what the cuts actually are, and realize and point out that all the whining about it is massively overblown. Would you have preferred if I waited another hour to respond, to let the tension build up?

By the way, the proposed cuts over the next 10 years are about a quarter of the increases that took place over the last 5. If we just returned to 2019 spending levels, adjusted for inflation and population growth, we'd already be there, and then some.

Who the hell works more than 80 hours a week? That's a requirement that you demand?
Also a significant portion of working adults on Medicaid are disabled. Over one in five have a disability.

My bad. I meant to say "per month."

ABAWDs are "Able-bodied Adults without Dependendants," by definition not disabled.

Heavy handed work requirements are already in place in most areas.
Burdening recipients who are already working, caregivers, the disabled, those with chronic illnesses and those living in areas that lack infrastructure transportation is counter intuitive to helping them in any way. And that compassionate conservatism, tough love, bootstraps is going to bite the GOP in the ass come midterms.

Mitch McConnell’s net worth is a measly $35 million. If that is “uber rich” to you then your account books must be a financial horror show.
I would bet you are not anywhere close to that neighborhood.

If there are 4 million ABAWDs collecting Medicaid benefits while working less than 80 hours per month, and millions more working barely 80 hours a month, that's obviously not the case.

None of those things are consistent with requiring all ABAWDs to work full time, or nearly full time, to qualify for Medicaid benefits.

Why are they not working?
Once you answer that question, you will likely gain insight and perspective.

Fascinating....not rich enough for you to bend the knee to, eh?

You post as probably 90% of the MAGAs on this board would be wiped out financially (including bankruptcy) by one really bad event (illness, loss of business, etc).

Ron White was right.

And what makes this story even MORE funny (in a sick kind of way) is Mitch's wife is the child of an immigrant (Chinese). Her dad moved from China to the US when he was around 30yo.

He built a huge Chinese/US shipping company that's now worth $1.2 Billion (before debt). And he's worth another $400 Million.

So while you read what Mitch said about the poorest MAGAs and how they'll "...get over it" remember that ole Mitch and his wife (she owns tons of companies and is rich herself) are on track to inherit a TON of money (and maybe controlling interest in her dad's company) FROM AN IMMIGRANT who lived the American dream.

I mean, our Southern states are so ****ed. I'm not sure I could list all the ways (from Medicaid cuts to the eventual Medicare cuts to no FEMA during hurricanes to no workers in the fields, to higher prices, etc).

It's complete madness.

What are the planned Medicaid cuts and specifically who will it affect?

Just saw the Pelosi's are worth $413M.
Must be from book sales, huh.

He’s right.

How so?

I know from personal experience. I got bold faced lied to by my government employer and was given some percentage smaller than I was contractually (and formerly statutorily) guaranteed for my work product. Every month I’m ripped off a bit more.

I survived it but I’m not over it. I’d gladly sock the three folks who led the charge to “F” me and everyone like me over squarely in the eye hard enough that their ancestors would feel it given the chance.

People who never had something, yeah maybe the envy others who have it but they don’t get pissed off about it because they can’t miss what they never had. Give them health insurance long enough for them to get use to it then take it away, not the same thing.

Less than 80 hours a week? .um.....
You mean 40? Because **** 80 hours. You have no life.

The blatant we don't give a shit anymore attitude from the GQP makes me think they really are planning for no more voting.

They don't show this stuff on Fox??

You hunted for a source and the California Medical Association is your go-to source?
Why not just quote Governor hair-gel?

From what I understand, it's being attributed to a Fran Lebowitz.

No, I just googled like you should have and picked the first one.

No, the Oligarchs MAGA bows to are far far richer than that.

Too funny and you don't even realize it.

Or you're now stuck because you could have simply googled the House and Senate Medicaid cuts for yourself.

Which will, of course, crush tons of MAGAs/their hospitals/etc.
