"Yo, mah boy Turkey! You know that time I put economic sanctions on you for buying those Russian missiles? Well, about those missiles -- umm, see, we could really use those right now, and I was wonderin..."

Geez, you just can't even make this shit up

U.S. Suggested Turkey Transfer Russian-Made Missile System to Ukraine

Reporting by Humeyra Pamuk; Additional reporting by Phil Stewart and Steve Holland; Editing by Daniel Wallis

WASHINGTON, March 19 (Reuters) - The United States has informally raised with Turkey the unlikely possibility of sending its Russian-made S-400 missile defense systems to Ukraine to help it fight invading Russian forces, according to three sources familiar with the matter.

U.S. officials have floated the suggestion over the past month with their Turkish counterparts but no specific or formal request was made, the sources told Reuters. They said it also came up briefly during Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman's visit to Turkey earlier this month.

The Biden administration has been asking allies who have been using Russian made equipment and systems including S-300s and S-400s to consider transferring them to Ukraine as it tries to fend off a Russian invasion that began on Feb. 24.

Guess what Turkey's answer was?

It sucks that Ukraine is having such a hard time here. The main issue being that anyone else stepping in, especially in a more direct measure. Is going to be seen as some form of aggression on their part. Which only makes things so much worse.

There's nothing that pisses off Russian operative sanman more than the west supplying Ukrainians to chop up more Russian pigs in their meat grinder. Cry harder, comrade.

An offer of an opportunity of redemption. That makes perfect sense - at least to anyone who actually thinks about it.

The trump administration, which imposed the sanctions were a lot more accommodating to Ankara and Damascus (not to mention Moscow) when they abruptly quit several US bases in north Syria and western Iraq. Moscow walked right in.

Turkey didn't cause the war - what are they supposed to be seeking redemption on? Not kissing America's ring so enthusiastically?

Who said Turkey caused the war?!!? Allow me to hold your hand while I walk you through this one.

1) Turkey came under harsh criticism from the allies for purchasing those weapons from Russia.
2) Turkey agreed to divest themselves of said weapons to combat Russia, ergo . . . .
3) . . . Turkey redeems itself in the eyes of those allies.

If that's too difficult for you to grasp, . . . well, then I can't help you.

Why would redemption from hypocrites be meaningful? It would probably be oxymoronic.
ie. Russian missiles are not okay for Turkey - but suddenly they're okay for Ukraine?

That shouldn't be too difficult for even you to grasp.

Hence, you can see what answer Turkey unsurprisingly gave to this proposal.

DUH!!
MURDER is OK when I'm doing it against my EX-WIFE!!
It's just not okay against me or anyone else.

Clearly that was way too difficult for you to grasp.

Ohhh, thanks for your moral clarity
