Been to Cuba have you? I spent time in Varadero and Havana speaking to people every day. I was privileged to be offered insight and perspective into peoples daily lives. The neighborhoods are clean, people have access to free higher education and health care. Crime and drug abuse is extremely low. They don't live in excess like Americans, Most who I spoke with were happy with the government but criticized aspects of if, more of things at local levels. Believe it or not that there are people out there that don't equate happiness with "having stuff" Flat screen tv's and McDonalds.
I am not a "socialist", no one is. *Socialism has never existed and WILL NEVER exist in These United States. *Totalitarian dictatorships, like Venezuela OR fascist autocracy like tRump has planned for the US, have existed; not socialism. Unbridled Capitalism is a game of rigged musical chairs where the few end up with more and more. Compare today's homes to homes from a few decades ago, for example, and you will find they are much larger, better constructed, and have far more amenities. The average middle class family today lives like the upper middle class family of yesteryear, and lives better than the wealthy family of the eras before that.
