Two vastly different views of an expensive home

Whether it is the Pharaoh or his unemployed, uninsured transgender cousin sitting in the chair, most of us will just be rowers

Been to Cuba have you? I spent time in Varadero and Havana speaking to people every day. I was privileged to be offered insight and perspective into peoples daily lives. The neighborhoods are clean, people have access to free higher education and health care. Crime and drug abuse is extremely low. They don't live in excess like Americans, Most who I spoke with were happy with the government but criticized aspects of if, more of things at local levels. Believe it or not that there are people out there that don't equate happiness with "having stuff" Flat screen tv's and McDonalds.

Move to Cuba if it's so nice.

I am not a "socialist", no one is. *Socialism has never existed and WILL NEVER exist in These United States. *Totalitarian dictatorships, like Venezuela OR fascist autocracy like tRump has planned for the US, have existed; not socialism. Unbridled Capitalism is a game of rigged musical chairs where the few end up with more and more. Regulated capitalism with social programs to under pin society like you are AGAINING about is what MADE AMERICA GREAT.

You should give credit to the author of your Harris Biden Campaign slogan. What you have is not yours.

No math and statistics are pretty inflexible. To be an above average there has to be a below average. That is what averages are

unless he is a resident of lake wobegon:
"Well, that's the news from Lake Wobegon, where all the women are strong, all the men are good-looking, and all the children are above average."

What are you talking about? Can you use it? I've never seen a patent mark on it.

MY point is different. Before tRump AMERICA was great, 3 1/2 years of tRump later; AmeriCANs need to "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN".

After Obama, America was not great. Since Trump it's better. Biden will set us back another four years.

Socialism boils down to greed and envy period.

When a capitalist and a socialist look at an expensive home, this is what they say. A socialist says no one should live in an expensive home like that. OTOH a capitalist says it would be great if everyone could live in a home like that. And they work toward that happening.

That's a fairy tale. Capitalists accept poverty as the fiscal counterbalance to their entitled greed. They DON'T believe that everyone can have the same standard of living. What the capitalist in your story is is a communist.

you are saying the nation is better off today under tRump than it was four years ago under Obama?

You are absolutely wrong. Capitalist do not work towards making sure everyone can live in expensive homes. In fact, a significant number of capitalists base their wealth on keeping people poor and exploiting them for everything they can.

I agree. The capitalist he's speaking of is a communist.

A socialist will look at an expensive home and say no one should live in one of these while there are people starving and homeless and deprived of basic medical care. That's the right version of the OP.

Not "today", we do have a pandemic, you know. But before that, hell yes, and when it's gone, we need Trump's policies to get rolling again, not the failed policies of the Dim past.

Then you acknowledge that our nation is not as well today as it was four years ago under Obama

Would that not indicate the Make America Great Again promise of tRump was a failure

That is too frigging funny. The capitalist is not interested in anyone else getting that home. The capitalist gets the home, and starts figuring out who they can profit from to afford another one.

The Socialist says: "I wonder if the owner of this home has worked with local governments to get breaks on their property taxes so their money doesn't have to go to supporting the schools in this area?"

$3 million tax cut on Larry Ellison's estate

(Larry Ellison, in this case is the "Capitalist" and he says "F*** you peasant scum. I'm wealthy and you aren't. LOL.")

That's one of the beauties of capitalism. Practically speaking, no, there isn't. Compare today's homes to homes from a few decades ago, for example, and you will find they are much larger, better constructed, and have far more amenities. The average middle class family today lives like the upper middle class family of yesteryear, and lives better than the wealthy family of the eras before that.

Heck. I have a Garage. Know what a Garage is? It's a second house that I keep for my stuff.

:D Yay, Capitalism.

You seem to have forgotten to compare the number of people that don't have homes compared to a few decades ago. Capitalism at work...

But-------------------see---------------------that is where you are wrong. With Capitalism everything is possible if you are willing to work!!!!

But the people hiring will try to hire people at the lowest wage possible because you know...capitalism.

Fun Fact: In Capitalist America, Poor People Are Fat!

Do you know why? Of course not, because you haven't looked at the real problem...poverty (resulting from capitalism).

On que....

No capitalist ever pushed you down, stole your pennies, and shoved your face in the mud. If you fail, blame the guy that stares back at you with contempt every morning from the mirror.

Plenty of liberals and democrats are very successful capitalists. But then...they arent whiny pathetic little ****s expecting someone else to wipe their ass even as adults and take care of them from the cradle to the grave. Those democrats would **** on you and your impotent comments as readily as any conservative would.

Really? Why can't all people in America working 40 hours a week earn a living wage? Why does the average black household have about 10% of the wealth of the average white household? Why do people in America die because they can't afford healthcare? Capitalism. Your focus on a capitalist is disingenuous.

Plutocratic capitalism fails the people. It's not filled with rich people trying to help everyone be rich, it's filled with rich people who use the wealth to get power to take as much of the wealth for themselves as possible. They create a gilded society of mansions next to people dying without healthcare. And they point at the failures of communism to suggest that anything else is worse, a self-serving lie. It's progressive Democratic Capitalism that creates wealth for all.

That is nonsense. America was the leader of the free world at the end of President Obama's term in office; now we are the laughing stock and our passports are impediments to travel. Trump has compromised every alliance we've maintained since War 2 and buddied up to our enemies instead. Joe Biden is singularly prepared to rebuild alliances and set boundaries for those that oppose us; without starting a war. Trump's people won't even brief him on all of his options because they are afraid of what he might do.
