Muslim group: two imams pulled from plane bound for North Carolina - CNN.com
I understand the fear after all that has happened over the past few years. However is it necessary to pull two individuals who have passed security off a plane, because they've made some people uncomfortable?
thoughts?
The two -- who hold high religious positions in the Muslim community -- were headed to North Carolina for a conference on prejudice against Muslims, or Islamaphobia.
Ironic isn't it.
Can you imagine what would happen if I told the Attendance on the plane I was uncomfortable because there were a couple Black guys on the plane wearing berets?
Talk about the fit hitting the Shan.
Depends on why people (/pilot) felt uncomfortable. I don't think the airline/airport (or whoever made the decision) did anything wrong here. They weren't on the plane to know what exactly went on - they only heard from others that there was a problem. They did the right thing by removing the individuals, re-screening them, and then comping their tickets for a later flight when nothing suspicious was discovered.Muslim group: two imams pulled from plane bound for North Carolina - CNN.com

These men were badly mistreated. I hope they file a complaint. There is no way that passengers have the right to give a thumbs-up or thumbs-down on fellow passengers. The pilot should be suspended and fined for his behavior.
Ironically, they were heading for a conference on Islamophobia, and how Muslims are being mistreated in America.
Plane bound for North Carolina.
That's half the explanation.

No, that was simply ignorance and prejudice. People who blow up planes don't look like they'll be blowing up palins

Show me the video of these imams supporting the death of bin Laden and I'll let them fly.
These people looked like they did. But werent going to. Logic fail.
Also people who do, dont look like theyre going to. Hence they are able to. Double fail.
Every terrorist attack/plot involving planes I can think of was done by people in plain cloths. I shouldn't of worded it the way I did, but that doesn't detract from my over-all point. There was nothing indicating that these people were going to do anything. They should sue the air lines and would be justified in doing so (even though I don't agree with law suits).
the underlying fact is.....nobody has a right to fly. You buy a ticket, you can be refunded that ticket cost and not allowed to board. Basically, it's the old "we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone" idea. You have the right to fly in general, but you can't force any particular airline to fly you.
#libertarianfail?I would refuse all muslims the right to fly if it were up to me
Hell, show me ANY damn video of muslims celebrating the death of a mass murderer. Bill O points out, they've been DAMN quiet.
yes and 15 of them were Saudis. why is the US government still firmly in bed with them? when will you be heading over there to spread freedom and democracy? :roll:The 19 muslims that flew planes into buildings didn't look like they were going to do anything either. Look how that turned out..

how happy are you with the 60 billion arms deal that was announced late last year?
