I love the immediate jump to the conclusion that the shooter was in the wrong because he’s white. The facts of the case are that the kid was attacked with a Molotov and after shooting the person who threw it was chased down and violently assaulted by other protestors before shooting again in self defense. Do you think a person has an obligation to stand there and be burned alive or otherwise murdered by a violent mob?
 
I asked this in another thread...when are 17 yr olds allowed to carry (open or concealed)? In most states, you must be at least 18.

That's it, in a nutshell. When we do get a handle on this crisis, he wants to be able to pull out footage and declare "I called it! I said use this! I said try this! I told them to do this, it was my idea!" He's just doing it with lots of stupid stuff because he doesnt want to miss an opportunity. He's afraid 'the big one' will be mentioned and he wont get credit for it.

He didn’t murder anyone. In fact, after seeing all of the videos, he showed remarkable restraint. Someone tried to murder him with a Molotov and, when that failed, started chasing him to do him bodily harm. So he was shot. A mob continued to chase him and then violently assaulted him before he opened fire again. As of now, there’s no evidence that those shootings were unjustified and a mountain of it to the contrary. Pity mobs like this never show up when thousands of black lives are snuffed out in gang violence every year.

I think he was in the wrong because he wanted to take his gun out and intimidate or harm protestors. I can only assume he hoped they'd be black, but we'll have to wait and find out if he's a racist. If he's white and in a militia, pretty good guess, but still just a guess.

Now to what we do know. Minus details of course, this part is without a doubt: a 17-year old boy, a boy, took a loaded firearm to a protest in order to confront protestors. Things got out of hand and he ended up shooting several, killing two. There is no doubt the kid f***ed up just by putting himself there.

Prove your assertions. ALL of the video shows him defending himself from being assaulted by armed people. You have video of him shooting people unprotected, present it. The people who died are not heroes, they are Nazi scum that earned their death. **** em.

This was inevitable. given the destruction, looting and assaults that have been going on for over three months. Unless the protests turn peaceful and are held during the day there will be more of this.

Even if the protests are peaceful daytime affairs I have no doubt the 'militias' - Zero Percenters, Oathbreakers, Buggeryou Boys and Half-Minutemen - will turn up with their sloppy dad-bods wrapped head to toe in GI Joe cosplay with automatic rifles to intimidate people. It's baked into the cake.

I mean did you see that chubby little turd waddling breathlessly to the cops to turn himself in? What a sad sack.

But perhaps we can agree it's less likely to lead to random shootings.

I don’t doubt that he went there expecting or even hoping for trouble, but what the videos show is that he took every available opportunity to retreat from people who intended to murder him. The people chasing and trying to burn him alive with a Molotov and beat him to death in the street gave him a legitimate reason to defend himself by any means necessary. So he was right to expect the savagery and the people who committed it are now dead or injured.

No. And that's because it's a plastic bag. He's carrying the exact same bag in the video where the confrontation at the gas station starts. You can see it when he brings his arm back to throw it and then it just falls to the ground. No fireball, no nothing.

It doesn't break because they used too thick of glass. A common mistake.

Plastic bags do not behave like the object in the video, nor do they magically have flames on them.

He had a plastic bag thrown at him.

This was a 17 year old kid who had zero business being in Kenosha and thought he was playing with the big dogs on the porch. Then like a fool he wandered off the porch and got chased by a guy carrying a plastic bag which was then thrown at him. And the bag hits the ground. No ball of flames should be the first clue that this wasn't a molotov.

:doh You can see the bag over the mans shoulder as he's throwing it. The exact same bag he's carrying earlier. Please tell me how bottles lay out flat on the pavement after being thrown.
