Political parties at odds on Republican Day march.

Political parties and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) have voiced their determination for a Republic Day march to be held from the earliest Parliament building to Atatürk’s mausoleum despite the Ankara Governorship’s ban and government officials’ opposition to the rally.

the middle eastern style ''government'' and their dictator-like leader Erdoğan try to erase any thing that relates to Atatürk or modern secular Turkey; but they miss some point that people in Turkey are not like the ones in middle east, so they do not obey kings or idiots. they protest you as in the wta ceremony in istanbul yesterday ( Crowd whistling in WTA Year-End Tennis Championships Istanbul 2012 presentation ceremony - YouTube )

That's BS. The "ones in the middle east" are people just like the rest of us. If Turkey's government was a backwards totalitarian dictatorship with absolute power, its people would stfu and do what they're told just the same.

do you think i am talking about humanity? please do not turn the thread into that.

I think you were very clearly spewing nationalist (and borderline racist) crap. You explained Turkey not being a dictatorship as a matter of not being like "them". Your psuedo-analysis ignores historical, sociological and downright reality factors. If you insist on crediting Turkey's democracy to Turkish people being better than mideasterners, that'll be the end of the debate for me, as I've no intention of engaging an anthropologically challenged nationalist on geopolitics.

..tells the one with an avatar of usa flag and eagle. if you have something to say, then say it; otherwise do not spoil the thread please.

not only a group of bigot ignorant turks but also the bush administration had supported those fake muslims .they are also fake democrats .turkish republic has never seen such a betrayal since it was founded

I said what I have to say. As your response, to my challenge of your OP, consists entirely of "please don't ruin my thread", I'd suggest more consideration on your part regarding wtf you're talkin' about.

Good day.

Good day.

that is very ironic; the guy with usa flag and eagle tries to defend muslims in middle east, just because i did imply their social situation. but in the first place it is the usa governments and the west that are responsible for their current situation; if you challenge me in that respect, please do not bother to tell me how usa and the west ruined the me. how many people have been killed since usa invaded ıraq? if you want to tell me something, then please start with your invasions and killings in the me, and then tell me how people treat muslims in usa; if you have enough breath left then tell me your points about my first comment, deal?

I said good day.

Ok, you guys got me. Turkey wins.

...but you spoiled the thread, please delete your ''comments''.

Oh, come on, it's not ruined. Someone else might comment. Why don't you and Medusa talk some. Quote her and start a discussion/debate, don't be shy.

No apologies needed, I'm fine with ecofarm's comments for one.

Requesting he delete them is a bit much. They're a lot more on topic than a lot else in the Europe forum.

Do you have a secular supreme court that has an opinion on the issue?

If not, you may well be ****ed.

there was, but authoritarian Erdoğan did replace them with whoever is close to his party. so the supreme court is the guard of akp regime like the one in iran. but it does not matter , as you can see in the news, people in turkey are not like the ones in the me, so he should think to immigrate to a me country if he wants to be a king, or does not like to see people protest him instead of kissing his ..s.

his children studied in different universities in US ( like the other so called muslim bigots did ),so he is supposed to immigrate to a western country ,or to switzerland where he keeps all his money that was obtained through illegal ways.
