This is quite typical of loyalty obsessed autocrats - everyone who works for him only survives as long as some worm-tongue doesn't whisper in Trump's ear some accusation pf disloyalty which, in turn, is taken to be true and a final judgement of the target.

Of course, in North Korea an accused person would be executed, here Trump must satisfy his himself with at most firing.

And it appears that true "America Firsters" (isolationists) are finding their opinions very unwelcome when it does not conform to Trump's ever shifting brain - or when they personally disappoint with a lackluster parade.

I have often said that Trump cannot find anyone that, in principle, mirror his chaotic and often incoherent beliefs. Neo-Conservatives, America Firsters, Paleo Conservatives, Populists, moderate Republicans, etc. etc. are at some point always out of step with Trump - and the result is staff turnover.

Now Gabbard and Hegseth find themselves in disfavor, and in my experience in working with such bosses, there is never any redemption. Two more out the door.

We all should know by now that the WA. Post and CNN are famous for citing their anonymous sources, such as "a person familiar with the session" or "administration officials" said blah, blah, blah.

Just so you know, spokespeople for Gabbard and Hegseth, Olivia Coleman and Sean Parnell, have disputed these claims, calling them "completely false".
Sean Parnell, the Pentagon's chief spokesman, called the report “completely false” and emphasized that Hegseth was in regular contact with the President, even participating in high-level meetings like those in the Situation Room.

Olivia Coleman, Gabbard’s press secretary, insisted that Gabbard was still deeply engaged in her duties. She stated Gabbard was focused on providing intelligence to the President and countering “Deep State” interference. In one interview, she went further, labeling the reports “a lazy regurgitation of a fake news story.”

I mean, we're supposed to believe that Trump apparently had no knowledge that Ukraine was going to strike Russia's nuclear bombers. We don't know who's included in the administration's Iran planning. Trump doesn't know what he's going to do in Iran - maybe he will, maybe he won't.
