Tucker Carlson defended QAnon, and said that attacks on it are part of a government plot to control people's minds

We are literally fighting people whose attitudes come from 1860.

I don't think we can beat them. We have to let them slowly pass away.

"Once politicians attempt to control what you believe they are no longer politicians they are by definition dictators. And if they succeed in controlling what you believe you are no longer a citizen, you are not a free man, you are a slave."

Yet the former President, the former top politician, trying to control people to believe the "Stop the Steal" baloney are somehow exempt from that. Lol Carlson's nucking futs.

Tucker's FOX lawyers defend him by declaring that he is a liar. I know that this is referred to in the original post but it never hurts to remind his fans.

Tucker's ratings were in the tank for a long time until he realized that he had to get more hateful and crazy, which he is now wall to wall rant and whine. The funniest is when he tries to convince his low IQ audience that the "elite" are against them, and that means Biden and the Democrats, this after the Repubs give yet another huge tax cut to the wealthy and throw bones to everyone else

Bones? What bones?
Everyone else can't even get bonemeal much less bones.
It's almost like you can hear people chanting about bonemeal and how badly they need it.

"Bonemeal bonemeal, gotta have it now.
Bonemeal bonemeal, we need it just like HEROIN."

this is total propaganda. he mentioned Qanon as being something that 'geniuses' feared more than the chinese hegemony or coming hyperinflation, and talked about how the thought police are the real idea people should worry about but that is a long way from what this propaganda piece states.

I invite you to show me the clip where he defends QAnon.

here is the episode. the start of what the article speaks of is about 8:30.

"Don't pay attention to Q - these issues I just made up are much more important" counts as a defense.

that is not a direct quote an I believe any rational person not listening to propaganda of the article you posted would understand he is contrasting fears and giving his opinion on which is worse. that is not a defense. IMO only someone wanting to defame him would use that argument.

Complain to his sponsors until he's down to my pillow and MLM scams. I'll probably look it up later.

Of course it's a defense. He is defending QAnon by comparison. It's no different than arguing that we shouldn't prosecute robbery, because murder is worse.

And while I think it's adorable that you recently learned about defamation law, but I think you need to do some additional research.

that is the strangest attempt to propagandize actual video i have ever heard, he didn;t say we should NOT do anything about Qanon, he merely compared the fears and went on to talk about thought policing.

anyone can see the opinion of the business insider column is a stretch.

I said nothing about defamation law, the word has meaning outside law.

Yes. He went on and on about things he finds more important than QAnon in order to minimize the danger of QAnon. That's a defense.

I have never heard anyone use the term "defame" outside of a legal context.

I disagree. I will let actual interested people decide after watching the actual video.

and as for defame, well now you have. it is a word, it has a definition, and it's definition does not have to be tied to a legal issue.

de•fame dĭ-fām′

  • transitive verb
To damage the reputation, character, or good name of (someone) by slander or libel. synonym: malign.
  • transitive verb
    To disgrace.

  • To slander or calumniate, as by uttering or publishing maliciously something which tends to injure the reputation or interests of; speak evil of; dishonor by false reports.

Of course. So is inchoate, but no one uses it outside of the legal world. I'll just assume you thought you'd look smart by using it.

thank you, for giving an example of how assumptions based on believing you know someone else's thoughts are usually quite wrong.
