Trust God and call it a day? I saw that bumper sticker this morning. I think it's stupid. How about trust yourself instead?

Your opinion would be a lot more interesting if you had some evidence to offer for it. Otherwise it just comes down to repetition of your claim.
You wouldn't believe how many times I've heard the repetitive assertion that "the evidence is all around us." Yet never anything specifically demonstrated to be linked to any god/s.
It's hard to take you seriously when you insist on taking something literally that nobody is going to mean literally.
That's ok. I don't take him seriously in the least. No one should. Its all bad comedy.

Religious beliefs, yes, but statistically based findings are also beliefs as applied to the individual. Medical and psychological diagnoses are prime examples. We certainly have the technology to answer many questions, but until the CAT scan is complete, the diagnosis is a belief.

There's nothing wrong with beliefs per se, as long as those beliefs are based on facts. If the facts are that someone has lied, my belief is that I won't believe him anymore. And because of the fact that I'm thirsty, I believe I'll have another beer.
A medical diagnosis is based on the presenting symptoms and relevant diagnostic findings. That's an objective determination. Until such findings are made available, a physician can only opine on the possible condition, which itself relates to similar cases and symptomology. It's not a belief in the sense of the word, but rather an expert medical opinion based on current albeit limited facts or data.

I cannot argue that. But i would add Jimmy Page. Because one cannot talk of gods and not mention Led Zepplin. 😁
We need some goddesses.

Guitar slingin' Serbian. Love Ana.

Love that song. Long undulating repetitive beat. Kinda like some of the arguments here. Only in a good way.

If you ever get a chance to see Anne Harris, do not pass it up. I saw here in Vegas at the Big Blues Bender. It could be this performance. I forgot what year we went. Lol. Anyway, some gods and an amazing fiddle playing goddess on stage.

No, I have standards as to what constitutes evidence.

What "evidence?" Be specific! Empty assertions are meaningless.

The fact that anything exists at all. God created the universe and all the material stuff you consider evidence. If you disagree tell me how the universe came into being. Be specific, empty assertions are meaningless.

Agreed, which is my point. We base beliefs based on available information, which hopefully is factual. Religious belief is based on scripture and other subjective evidence. Nothing wrong with a properly held belief. It when these beliefs are based on falsehoods that they become problematic.

A god of the gaps argument based on an assumption.

Thats nice. Prove it!

I cannot say how the universe came into existence as I do not know. That's an honest answer, unlike assertions that "God did it," which cannot be demonstrated.

Who created God?

I think the issue here is how the term "belief" is used. It can be too easily misconstrued. I wouldn't apply it to something that has some objective basis.

I loves me some goddesses. Especially of the groundskeeper variety 😏
But they'll do too 😁

I've just offered you evidence. You're too blind to see it.
No, you didn't. All you offered is am assumption based on ignorance. A classic god of the gaps fallacy.

I provided you evidence, and really the evidence is all around you. You can't see is because you don't want to see it. Have you even considered that there is evidence you just haven't recognized yet?

No you didn't. All you said was along the lines of "all around you, therefore god." That's not evidence. That's mere belief. It's no more evidence for a god than it is for fairies, leprechauns, or gnomes. All the atoms composing everything around us including ourselves, was formed in the core of a star. That is fact. "God did it" is not fact. It's belief.

Such as?

No, just belief.

No, just belief.

No. it's evidence. Evidence is not limited to what Gordy thinks evidence is, Gordy has limited abilities in that regard. He see's only a portion of the universe.

No, you didn't. You just claimed that it's there. That's a boring post, just as boring as someone said the same to you.

You too are blind. "There is none so blind as he who will not see."

A deliberate refusal to understand or accept reality can be a form of blindness more profound than a lack of sight.

I don't think you understand what constitutes evidence. But by all means, explain what portions of the universe have you seen that I have not?
