Trumps post Va. attack comment and lack thereof: The most disgusting to date.(

"These groups seem to believe they have a friend in Donald Trump in the White House. I don't know why they believe that. They don't see me as a friend in the Senate. I would urge the president to dissuade these groups that he's their friend... I'm glad they don't like me. It would bother me if they did."

I think Congressional Republicans have a horrific history when it comes to racial issues, yet the condemnation of White Supremacy in general and Naziism in specific does not seem to be a difficult bar for them to reach. There may be White Supremacists in their camp, but they seem wholly unconcerned with the possibility of alienating them.
 
Trump's pathetic statements are woefully inadequate. Trump must do two things; he needs to make a serious statement condemning the violence, the white supremacists who perpetrated it, and their murderous ideology, and he needs to do it on live TV, not on Twitter. Second, he needs to fire Steve Bannon. Today.

The cancer won't go away with the leaving of Bannon any more than Kelley brought professionalism to the White House. The problem isn't the people the President has surrounded himself with, it's the person who decided to surround himself with those people in the first place.
 
This is obviously radical hard-right terrorism, and yet all the POTUS can do in his transparently tepid and disingenuous remarks is mumble about 'many sides'.

I agree, but we can't honestly expect him to resign. We can, and should, demand that he do the aforementioned things, namely make an actually appropriate statement, on live TV, and fire Steve Bannon. That would at least make it look like he's taking this seriously.

Seems to me Trump denounced ALL sides of hate and violence.

Why do you criticize him? Do you think he should take sides? Should he denounce the right-leaning side (Unite the Right) and ignore the left-leaning side (Antifa) that eagerly engaged in the violence?
