[h=2]Donald Trump wants to cancel government plans to build two new Air Force One jets.[/h]The president-elect said in a tweet Tuesday that the new Boeing (BA) 747 jet that's being built to carry "future presidents" already costs more than $4 billion, and that he wants to cancel the order.

"Boeing is building a brand new 747 Air Force One for future presidents, but costs are out of control, more than $4 billion. Cancel order
!"

Will you be showing similar concerns regarding the insane costs of securing Trump Tower? I'll be holding my breath.,..

Honestly, hearing Trump preach about profiteering is comical. Hollow has been redefined.

Curbing government spending. Uh oh, the left hates that. See, Obama would look at it and say, "Hmmm... $4 billion for a few planes? Looks good to me, go ahead!"

Can't see how you can fault him for at least questioning the amount, of OUR money, going out the door.

How easy it is to avoid Trump's own spending. You apparently don't see the hypocrisy. No shock. Typical from the right.

Lets see..

1) Did the GOP run Congress not need to approve the deal?
2) Does Donald not want jobs in America? The plane is made in several states, and cancelling it would cost jobs.
3) Boeing lost 1 billion in value on that tweet... guess Donald does not care about the average American who holds Boeing stocks eh?

I am guessing he wants to buy the cheap Russian made planes instead right?

I know AF1 is not a normal 757 but 4 billion seems a little outrageous. Instead of cancelling the order it needs to be audited and Bowing executives explaine the price tag.

Actually, that's not a bad idea. When I was in Scotland, a "folley" was explained to me: they are built to look like something, when in reality they are nothing, because the local baron needed to justify expenditures in accounting for his government subsidies. I mean American contractors in Iraq actually lost 9 billion dollars: how the hell did THAT happen?

There's waaaay too much waste of money going ANYBODY in D.C is equally guilty so it's time we did something about it.

As for Trump's personal affairs? He'll have to answer for them; he's under the microscope now.

If the product is not demanded, the job is not necessary. Doing it for the sake of the workers makes the effort a "make work job." Might as well pay them to trim the white house lawn with nail clippers.

If there is no need for them, much like the tanks the Pentagon doesn't want, the Congress need not waste the money; Plane/Tank makers be damned.

Seems that the president has a good plane already. Trump is a butthead on many issues, but I agree with him on this one. The funny part is him using Twitter to cancel the contract. Stay tuned for more SNL gold this weekend. LOL.

One aircraft is going to cost jobs? I doubt that.

Where is Mr. Trump supposed to live between now and 20 January?

That's not the issue. It's the costs during his tenure. There are rumors he wants to preside from there.

If he does, we can reposition security assets from The White House.

Go ahead and make the case for cutting the spending on security then. I'm not stopping you.

Can I suggest you read the article? Once you get past the Trump bluster it contains some actual relevant information. It leads to as many questions to Trump as it does to Boeing.

Could/should very well be highly classified though..

I have no problem cutting costs. It starts however, with him. As to Twitter...grow the **** up Donald.

And president Trump has a very good plane already, granted not equipped for air force 1 but Trump knows a thing or 2 about owning planes of this sort..
How many people do you know that actually owns one of these planes? Also the details of Trump's plane are even accounted for from the leather to the engines..
Trump's pilot is probably one of the happiest men in the world, Trump's plane is an object of desire for many a pilot..

Let's see...
1) Is this about Congress, or Trump having a problem with the amount?
2) So if there are jobs in America from it, we can't question the amount and pay whatever the demand. Doesn't sound too smart.
3) Ooops! Are we going to have to restrict free speech now to only say positive things about companies? The left might not ever be aloud to comment on corporations again!

Where is Mr. Trump supposed to live between now and 20 January?

If it were up to liberals, from what I see in here, they want him unprotected by Secret Service, with NONE of the usual things that a President has....face it, they won't say it like McConnell did, but they want him to fail.
