Sounds like they need to clarifyOK, but they also didn’t confirm it.

What makes you think it'll be "verified"?Where you gonna be when the story is verified?
LOL!!Nahh. Sorry bruh. Yo boy Trump is thinking about it and wants to. He bitched like a girl when they raised rates under his admin. It's natural for him.
His campaign didnt deny it. Womp womp
Except for the effect of Covid mania world wide, the numbers on the economy during the Trump years don't support your assertions. The economy was good, interest rates very low, mortage rates low and employment and household income very good.Hyperinflation is not fun.
Trump wants the POTUS to be able to "consult" and remove the chairman of the Fed. Another institution he's wanting to destroy and place under the executive branch.
Fascists gonna fascist
I'm referring to Trump's criticism of the Fed's actions to tamp down inflation.Except for the effect of Covid mania world wide, the numbers on the economy during the Trump years don't support your assertions. Why don't you try some truth and see what happens.I know the truth hurts those on the left.
Except for the bad things, it was great. That would be a true statement for every single presidency. But it is kinda a bullshit answer.Except for the effect of Covid mania world wide, the numbers on the economy during the Trump years don't support your assertions. Trump inherited 4.75% unemployment, near zero interest rates and a <$500 bil deficit. Before COVID he proceeded to sign a deficit fueled stimulus package (tax cuts) that doubled the deficit to near $1trillion in a matter of 2 years. Translation: he inherited a great economy, injected it with deficit fueled stimulus, doubled the deficit, than left office with a nightmare - complete shut down and historic $3trillion deficits.Except for the effect of Covid mania world wide, the numbers on the economy during the Trump years don't support your assertions. People who think Trump knew what he was doing with the economy (well, with anything) fail utterly to realize that anyone could make things LOOK better in the short term. Like, if you are on the verge of bankruptcy, using a credit card to pay for everything you want makes you APPEAR to be on solid financial ground for a while, but it is not sustainable in the long run, and solves nothing. Nothing trump did was sustainable. he did worse than that by giving tax breaks to the wealthy at the expense of all Americans. He solved nothing.Trump inherited 4.75% unemployment, near zero interest rates and a <$500 bil deficit. Thems the facts dawg

Trump campaign when asked about it did not deny or disagree with it. They just vaguely said it wasn't "official". So they are thinking about it.I was able to read the full story behind the WSJ paywall. Not much to it. The title of this thread is entirely misleading. Shocking. First they said trump "Allies" then they called them "supporters" then a lot of speculation.
I do think the Fed should remain independent and that Presidents already have too much power. I also don't think this is a serious news story.
Imagine if Biden had the ability to control monetary policy right now. He'd crank up the money printer to spend more money and **** up inflation more than he's already ****ed it up.
