Trump Wants POTUS To Control The Federal Reserve

It’s understandable that some people would assume trumpy knows how to handle money, because he is allegedly a very wealthy guy. He is actually terrible with money. Given the start he had when he inherited so much from his father, he should be worth multiple tens of billions by now. And that could have been accomplished without doing anything more than simply investing in America via conservative investing - an S&P Index fund would have netted him far more than all his failed businesses and thousands of lawsuits combined. He is NOT worth what he says he is. He is NOT an honest businessman. American banks will not do business with him. Everything he claims to own seems to be mortgaged or leveraged in some some way. He is NOT a self-made billionaire. In spite of his lack of ability, he HAS managed not to lose his fortune. He’s cost his own family a great deal of money, but they seem too dumb to realize it. But instead of investing in America, he chooses his own ego and makes the same mistakes over and over again, using sleazy lawyers to screw over people against and again.

This is not what America should be about.

Trumpy’s latest scam involves his DJT stock scheme, where it appears he may net a significant amount by transferring money from his investors to himself. The company itself is a money loser, and has zero prospects of ever being profitable. Strange that this is even possible. It will almost certainly become yet another Trump bankruptcy that he will net profits from. None of this is good for America, or good for his investors. Deven Nunes was paid a $600,000 retention fee - for running a money losing operation. This is not good capitalism. It is simply another trumpy scam. A few will benefit, most will not.

America will experience the same carnival ride should trumpy get reelected. He’s a con man, and an another trump term would be a shit show, much worse than teh last one.

VOTE ACCORDINGLY.

Nahh. Sorry bruh. Yo boy Trump is thinking about it and wants to. He bitched like a girl when they raised rates under his admin. It's natural for him.

His campaign didnt deny it. Womp womp
LOL!!

Okay. You do you.

You are dismissed.

As for Trump, we either dump this loser now, or dump him later after he has seriously harmed and weakened this nation. As we've seen, nothing good comes to anything Trump does or those that align themselves with him. It's that learning from history thing again.

Hyperinflation is not fun.
Except for the effect of Covid mania world wide, the numbers on the economy during the Trump years don't support your assertions. The economy was good, interest rates very low, mortage rates low and employment and household income very good.
I know the truth hurts those on the left.

I'm referring to Trump's criticism of the Fed's actions to tamp down inflation.
I know the truth hurts those on the left.
Why don't you try some truth and see what happens.

Except for the bad things, it was great. That would be a true statement for every single presidency. But it is kinda a bullshit answer.

Trump inherited 4.75% unemployment, near zero interest rates and a <$500 bil deficit. Before COVID he proceeded to sign a deficit fueled stimulus package (tax cuts) that doubled the deficit to near $1trillion in a matter of 2 years. Translation: he inherited a great economy, injected it with deficit fueled stimulus, doubled the deficit, than left office with a nightmare - complete shut down and historic $3trillion deficits.

Thems the facts dawg

People who think Trump knew what he was doing with the economy (well, with anything) fail utterly to realize that anyone could make things LOOK better in the short term. Like, if you are on the verge of bankruptcy, using a credit card to pay for everything you want makes you APPEAR to be on solid financial ground for a while, but it is not sustainable in the long run, and solves nothing. Nothing trump did was sustainable. he did worse than that by giving tax breaks to the wealthy at the expense of all Americans. He solved nothing.

I was able to read the full story behind the WSJ paywall. Not much to it. The title of this thread is entirely misleading. Shocking. First they said trump "Allies" then they called them "supporters" then a lot of speculation.

I do think the Fed should remain independent and that Presidents already have too much power. I also don't think this is a serious news story.

Imagine if Biden had the ability to control monetary policy right now. He'd crank up the money printer to spend more money and **** up inflation more than he's already ****ed it up.

Trump campaign when asked about it did not deny or disagree with it. They just vaguely said it wasn't "official". So they are thinking about it.

Of course he does! What better way to fund his never ending legal fees!
