My take? In the hours before Trump's abbreviated address yesterday somebody convinced him that he needed to make one more effort to come to an agreement before he took stronger action so against his inclination he agreed to attend. We all know that negotiating in good faith isn't in Trump's playbook. Hes all about bully tactics. Hence the "Will you give me what I want? No? We're done."
The guy's a petulant spoiled brat. There's no way, no way that buffoon will prosper in his current environment. My hope is that all of you don't take too much damage before he's hauled out with the long burlesque hook.

There hasn't been one piece of reputable evidence that I've seen demonstrating that spending $5b on a small portion of Trump's wall is a cost effective strategy for limiting illegal immigration and drug smuggling. ie, solving the "problem". Not one. Why not?

I think you're forgetting that DACA was part of the deal. I do think the Dems should counter with DACA and other things and give Trump his 5 billion. But to just give it to him outright because he's crying like a child would be foolish. Especially considering Dems have folded like chairs to the Repugs in the last little while. It has been a crisis since Reagan was president. Trump is not going to let congress kick the can down the road but force them to do their job. It is time for the resistance and the do nothing party to start doing their job. Legal immigration makes America great. Exploiting illegals, not securing our border, not enforcing our laws, rewarding criminals is the reason their are so many 3rd word countries. We don't need to go there.

The fact is a wall will detour people entering our country illegally. The people against it are the rich and powerful exploiting these people. The same people who own both parties and our media. We have already built quite a bit of wall that has been attempting to do the job. The problem is the wall has never been properly funded or finished. Trust me I have crossed the border so many times I have lost track of how many times. From Nogales to Brownsville Texas. There are fences and walls attempting to stop the flow of illegals everywhere. The problem is they are a Hodge podge of poorly funded dilapidated eyesores that look like they were the product of some ****hole country not a super power. It is time to do things right once and for all. The problem is escalating due to the corruption and drugs in Mexico. It is time to secure our border and stop kicking the can down the road.
