Trump: Vote for me or the economy crashes

This little gem is from his New Hampshire rally on 8/15:

Aside from the fact that it looks like James972 is writing his speeches, it's become clear even to his supporters that Trump hasn't delivered on anything - except that the economy hasn't tanked (so far). Now that there are signs that it could, he has no choice but to scare people. As if those fat ralliers weren't terrifying enough.
You don't have clue one about what Trump's supports feel about Trump's success. Or anyone else's for that matter. Trump polls over 50% approval for his handling of the economy. Even LW sponsored polls. :lamo

All this historic stuff about recessions and Republican and Democrat presidents is no longer valid. It's now a populist against a socialist. And an economy that reacts really fast to news of a new tax or fee. What do you think will happen? Unicorns and rainbows for all!

I love how you think 3000 requests for tickets is a lot...
Funny you should say that. Beto O'Roark had 350.

BTW 3000 more than the capacity of the arena.

I printed the rest of the list in the post above. You could make the point that Republicans only get elected when the economy is about to tank. Truman and Johnson both declined to run again.

Not demonstrably true in Obama's case for example. He definitely inherited a full blown crisis from Bush as well as continuing some of the fixes Bush's team were proposing for better or worse.

It would also be a little bit convenient to suggest, every time a Dem is in power he leaves the economy just bad enough to tank the day after the next Republican takes office and the next guy's repair job never seems to survive the following Dem. That returns to the old argument: it's always the last/next guy's fault, and 'our' guy can always take credit if things get better even though he was no longer on the scene.

I do think the president himself and admin-level policy is of course not the only factor in a boom or bust, but policy affects the economy, so perhaps each president should take credit/blame for what happens on his watch alone.

Since I already said that, what is your point?

With the parade of clowns the democrats have running for the presidency who support" Open borders, free healthcare for illegal aliens, Canceling private healthcare insurance and force everyone on government healthcare, The New Green Deal,
Get rid of Home Land Security/ICE, Socialism.

You know for the anti-Trump folks telling us over and over that president Trump has not accomplished anything.... you can smell the fear coming from them because they know president Trump will win reelection in2020! But he has not done any thing?
Wink, wink! :lamo

His only achievement, if you can call it that, is to convince the gullible that he knows what he's talking about. America never had a less competent or more deranged idiot for 'president'. Alfred E. Neumann would do a better job, and he doesn't even exist.

Oh no. Trump did deliver a huge tax cut to his wealthy donors and corporate america. As far as delivering anything to his base other than hate the libs, not so much.

So if we do fall into a recession in the next 14 months is rump going to walk that statement back bigly?
