This little gem is from his New Hampshire rally on 8/15:

The bottom line is, I know you like me, this is a love fest, but you have no choice but to vote for me because your 401(k)’s down the tubes. Everything is going to be down the tubes. So whether you love me or hate me, you’ve got to vote for me.

Aside from the fact that it looks like James972 is writing his speeches, it's become clear even to his supporters that Trump hasn't delivered on anything - except that the economy hasn't tanked (so far). Now that there are signs that it could, he has no choice but to scare people. As if those fat ralliers weren't terrifying enough.

It hasn't become clear to his supporters. They will mindkessly parrot whatever he tells them.

Welp, if Trump's the only thing holding our nation's economy together, I might as well to go feral cannibal now before all the most attractive women are eaten.

With the parade of clowns the democrats have running for the presidency who support" Open borders, free healthcare for illegal aliens, Canceling private healthcare insurance and force everyone on government healthcare, The New Green Deal,
Get rid of Home Land Security/ICE, Socialism.

You know for the anti-Trump folks telling us over and over that president Trump has not accomplished anything.... you can smell the fear coming from them because they know president Trump will win reelection in2020! But he has not done any thing?
Wink, wink! :lamo

Down The Tubes, everything will go down the tubes.
Sad.

Also Emtpyseatmagatour is trending. Doesn't look like he has nearly the same enthusiastic crowds going on as he did last time.

Other than the “Great recession”, every time a democrat president took over the economy tanked. They can’t wait to right some wrong with a bunch of burdensome regulations, squeezing the incentive to perform right out of them, forcing them into a defensive posture by cutting output and raising prices by going off shore.

Given the free stuff they plan to finance with businesses money, they will totally go to the mattresses. There is no money in socialism. It’s all spending.

Instead of ridicule, you should be think about what'll actually happen if a Dem is elected President.

1. Increased regulation.
2. Increased taxes.
3. Crappy trade deals that end up hurting the US.

Then what happens?

1. Businesses dial back their production or move to China...even with China's crappy government conditions.
2. People lose jobs or move to part time jobs.
3. Both businesses and people start spending less.

The result: The economy crashes.

What? Do you have a citation for that?

That hashtag has been debunked.

Yes...there were empty seats in the venue. There were also thousands of people...some who even had tickets...outside the venue.

It seems that "someone" wouldn't let those thousands in to fill the empty seats.

Truman 1945-1952 Recession 1953
Kennedy 1961-1963 No
Johnson 1963-1968 Recession 1969-1970
Carter 1977-1980 Double dip recession 1980 and 1981-1982
Clinton 1993-2000 Recession 2001
Obama 2009-2016 no

Just a could minutes with wiki can show you that much.

So you are attributing recessions under Republican presidents to the Democrats before them? Recessions seem to occur a lot more when Republicans become presidents according to you.

He's clearly losing it, his latest rally is further evidence. The Mooch even says so.

  • He claims to be the only savior of the economy when his own stats show it's heading toward recession
  • He offers to buy Greenland
  • Announces he was Michigan's Man of the Year
  • Fat shames a supporter

I wonder if he'll be primaried before the election so the GOP can run a different candidate and at least have a chance. Or if his base is just too strong maybe they'll invoke the 25th?

That's what makes it a perfect republican excuse - it was always the last president's fault. Dunno if Jay is old enough but I was seeing these discussions back in the early 2000s. Bush's economy was Clinton's fault, Clinton's economy was Reagan's genius and so on...

It perpetually allows them an ongoing twofer: blame the last guy for their guy's failures while robbing the next guy of credit for cleaning it up. It works in GOP-think.

sure.... do you know how ridiculous that sounds.

Maybe he was thinking about Bill O'Reilly and then that led to o'reilly auto parts and then that led to Michellen and then that led to the Michellen Man!!!! :lamo

Of course. There is always a period of carry over.

It was not my point. I just provided support for chuckiechan's post.

Since you bring it up, the rest of the list:
Eisenhower 1953-1960 Recession 1960-1961
Nixon 1969-1973 Recession 1973-1975
Ford 1973-1976 no
Reagan 1981-1988 no
GHW Bush 1989-1992 no
GW Bush 2001-2008 Recession 2007-2009

The 1973-1975 and 2007-2009 recessions are unusual in that they were primarily not monetary/inventory recessions. The 1973-1975 recession was driven by the OPEC oil embargo and repercussions. The so called great recession was triggered by the collapse of the real estate bubble and resulting bank failures.

Nope. Not true at all. Historically factually incorrect. Who told you those lies, they just made you look like a fool.

It's true...that's what happened.

The people outside weren't allowed to enter, even though some had tickets.

I printed the rest of the list in the post above. You could make the point that Republicans only get elected when the economy is about to tank. Truman and Johnson both declined to run again.

If the economy tanks shortly after democratic presidents take over from a republican president, and not when a democrat takes over from another democrat, what does that tell you about the fiscal policies of republicans?

Don't forget that Elizabeth Warren had to pack in 700 for her rally.

Except that the facts support his statement. Facts are stubborn that way.

On the one hand Trump is blaming everyone but himself (trillions in deficits and trade wars) for the coming recession.

On the other hand he asked his aides if the US could buy Greenland. :rofl
