Trump to rename Denali as McKinley in Alaska

That mountain has been known as Mount McKinley for more than a hundred years until some bleeding heart liberals decided to rename it.

It is only right and proper that it revert back to its original name.
What are your thoughts about the Gulf of Mexico? Not sure if you’ve heard, but it has been known by that name for hundreds of years, but some lardass faux conservative this he can rename it.

It is only right and proper that it remain the Gulf of Mexico, yes?

Already on day 1 The President is tackling the big issues that affect millions of hard working americans who sruggle to make ends meet in the Biden economy.

This is a great idea but I think that his natural modesty is holding him back rom taking the action that most Americans want.

Mount Trump sounds far better than Mckinley and would drag millions of citizens to the park to frolic in the snow and pay homage.

I understand that some eskimo woman is objecting to this. She needs to be gagged and bound and dumped in Greenland. Mizursky or something.

That kind of muddled thinking has led to the Biden decline and held back the golden age. Its time to stamp out dissent.
Does this mean Chevrolet has to rename their luxury trim Denali package to McKinley? Just doesn't sound right....

Big waste of taxpayer $$ to change it. And for what? Just to disrespect the local indigenous?

This could be a very expensive, ego-driven trend if he keeps it up. Enjoy MAGA, he's wasting your $$ too.

Holy shit your post is a perfect display of moronic MAGA inability to see past their racist noses.

Its only a temporary name change.

After he solidifies power and establishes himself as President for life, he's renaming it Mt Trump.

Since we'll already be making a few changes to the map, perhaps it's a good time to finally rename Canada. Any suggestions?

The Denali is a GMC trim package, and was introduced long before the mountain's name was changed.

Denali sounds like a made up name. Wait till Donald gets to Greenland where the names are all native gibberish.

Then we will see greatness and awesomeness on a grand scale
Your imperialistic days have left you in the past. Indigenous names...are the names that are being used.

i just said this and know it. I was being facious....

I demand JFK airport get it's real name back...Idlewild Airport. As a matter of fact, everything named in honor of a Democrat should be renamed. After all, the Democratic Party is the party of slavery.

Basically, Denali means "big mountain". Albeit in our bastardized version of the Indian name. Which really isn't a name as much as a description. You could have shown those long ago Indians a picture of Everest, and they would have said "big mountain". Denali.

All that aside, I favor the name Denali for the mountain. Purely esthetically.

So you think the natives really didn’t have a name for it and just arbitrarily called every tall peak ‘Big Mountain’?

That's what they called that one. I don't know what they called lesser ones, or if they called them anything beyond a description. Which is what "Denali" is. Bastardized to be sure.

"Paninnguaq Hansen"....why can't they have normal names??!!

Your point?

Not clear from my first post?

Y'all in a tizzy over something that doesn't matter. Or at least I think it doesn't. But maybe you can explain to me the importance of what that mountain is called.

It’s called Denali, the native name of the peak.

They weren’t idiots who called all mountains ‘big mountains’ or a people who didn’t really know one mountain from another.

That’s why it’s important.

Screw the ethnic natives. White power!

Expecting him to announce that the Civil War will again be called The War Between the States.

They didn't ALL call it "Denali". Also, I very much doubt they had a specific name for every mountain. They just don't seem to have been all into that naming thing like we are. And unless you are supporting naming every geographical feature in the US by whatever shit the Indians called it, save your special pleading. And I didn't say they were idiots, so you can save the stupid strawman arguments too.

Like it or not, it seems be be called McKinley again.

Seemed like that’s what you were going for.

And frankly, based on your posting history, you haven’t really earned the benefit of the doubt.
