They've already agreed to dropping all their tariffs if we drop ours. That may not be enough for Trump though.

When a country actually charges less in tariffs exactly how is imposing tariffs on them a "fair trade term"?

The problem is NOT that the other countries are trading unfairly, rather it is that Americans want to buy more stuff from them than they want to buy from Americans.

According to the World Bank Canada has a weighted tariff rate of 1.4% and the US has a weighted tariff rate of 1.5% (the UK has a weighted tariff rate of 1.0%). In order to be "fair" shouldn't the US be paying Canada 0.1% on all its imports from the US and shouldn't the US be paying the UK 0.5% on all of its imports from the US?

You can pretend all you want that to many Canadians don’t have an inferiority complex and come here to whine about America while they sit in their irrelevance but it is what it is.
