I drank the Kool-aid and didn't even realize it. I believed the press that those of you who made Trump the Republican nominee killed any hope of beating Hillary in a year where the GOP had its best chance in a long time. Now I'm beginning to think he was the only Republican candidate that could have won. To be real, I think there are still legit reasons to be concerned and to even not like him, but I see now that instead of irreparably damaging the GOP brand, the GOP actually rode right in on his coat tails. I saw where the RNC chair tried claiming some credit for this, and I think that's funny. Trump won in spite of the GOP, not because of it. Anyway, I'm actually more optimistic than I've been in a long time, so sorry....and thanks.

Thats just silly, Trump got the same votes that McCain and Romney did. Hillary just couldnt turn out the minorities.

It's gonna be hilarious seeing the black community complain after we didn't even show up in the numbers we did in 2012.

What a joke.

A week before the election, there was a black caller on a local talk radio station. He said: "We're not voting Republican... when we don't like the Democrat candidate, we just stay home."

I've heard that sentiment expressed by other black folks before. Wonder if it was the critical factor that cost her the election...

I know a lot of Hispanics who felt the same way. Many didn't like Trump on immigration and his remarks about Mexicans yet Hillary isn't a better choice either. It was just such a depressing election that those two are supposedly the best each side had to offer.

And this is 100% crap. Trump got more minority votes then Romney.

It would be unrealistic for anyone to believe that decades of propaganda could be ignored in Black Communities and votes shifted to the Republican Party.

What is most encouraging is the growing realization they have been exploited by the left for all that same amount time, and the promises they keep receiving will never come through.

By taking back their power, they have a chance to really achieve and believe. I truly hope that trend continues.

It's cool, just don't ever let it happen again. ;)

No he got a bigger %, but that's because less minorities voted. All the conservative minorities voted but a lot of the liberal ones stayed home.

I think Trump can really damage the GOP. I said before the election, if he gets elected and enacts his policies as described he is likely to be shunned just like GWB.

Dave Chappel used to preform jokes about that

I fell into a lot of those same traps myself, but he clearly seemed to miss no opportunity to step on his own message and pick fights with all the wrong people. That said, he actually has a chance to do some very good things that have been ignored by both parties for a long time. I would like to see him actually court the black vote, address the problems in the inner cities, and seek out ideas and support from black leaders and unions and the working class. He could not only actually help the country, but redraw the political map for a generation.

Trump got 30% of the Hispanic vote.. kinda ironic considering the media was pushing a line of he's not getting any minority vote. 400,000 Latinos voted for Trump in Florida. 200,000 more then Romney in 2012. So maybe the question the left needs to ask is Latino vote a voting block or should we look at "voting" blocks differently. Like the Cuban block in Florida or the Mexican block in California.. Trump had the support of the Cuban community in Florida.

And that's the irony of this election. Trump did well in communities media and others assumed he had no chance.

I guess "the minorities" prefer black male lawyers to white female ones that have a criminal feel about them. ;)

Did minorities really vote less? Hispanic vote was up.. Black voting was down by 1%. If that 1% was in States that didn't matter rather then say Florida or NC, nobody would be talking about it. It's all about in which States it happens.

I think we need to start taking "dalekmasterkill" more seriously!

I won't be the one to do it, but I wouldn't be surprised if he is reported to the mods for spamming multiple threads.

As a campaign-long Trump supporter there were more than a few moments he left me smacking myself in the head and asking what he thought he could possibly gain by saying "that".

A lot of his "comments" that caused controversy were completely innocuous, or taken out of context, or the result of folks putting words in his mouth, and then just spinning the hell out of it while a main stream media which was CLEARLY in the bag for Hillary Clinton ran with it like a pack of annoying little lap dogs.

At those points you just have to roll your eyes and wonder how the retarded liberals who actually buy that kind of nonsense, and run with it no less, can even remember how to breath, as stupid as they obviously are.

But there were a couple things that my jaw just dropped and my head kinda spun and you see that there's absolutely NO advantage at all in saying these things, and there would be no negative repercussions to not saying them, but the guy just puts his foot in his mouth.

I had to chalk it up to inexperience...he just has never been in a professional setting before where 51% of the people who are listening to him are ACTIVELY looking to be offended by something.

I never lost hope, and I never thought he did or said anything he couldn't recover from, but there were a few times I wanted to stuff my sock in his mouth.

I would guess that after all of the democrats telling them the whites are systematically racist against them they won't even trust a white Democrat anymore
