How do you stay quiet on a social media site?

Hi Jay,

If you look at the 'Joined Date' and the number of messages sent and compare these 2 from you and me than you can see that I stay much more quiet than you. :-)

You see? Life is so simple. No need to make it more complicated.

Joey

Seriously?

He wasn't talking about staying silent on a social media site.

He was talking about being an American in Thailand.

How did you miss that?

Hi Nolan,

No worries, Jay and I struggle to communicate.

But just for the record. I am not American. I am Dutch. And I was talking about living in Thailand and interacting with American people there. And than I illustrated being quiet with a comparison here. Probably not smart. But also done after your comment. lol.

Good job playing defense attorney for a Progressive who enjoys throwing rocks at noisy Americans all the way from Thailand..

Hi Jay,

Really, you just completely miss the point. It is not about you and me. It is not about Americans and me liking them or not. It is about America shouting from the highest mountain that they are number one. And you know what? That's fine. But taking that position comes with responsibilities. When you set the right example, your friends and allies will stick with you and you have a strong coalition. I have been warning for 9 years now that the US democracy is in danger. And I have been warning that the economy is in danger under Trump. When you are at the top, you catch a lot of wind. And there is only one way to go, and that is down. And you have just estranged the whole world. You made bigger enemies than you had before, and you have turned away your friends. Do you really think that helps you to stay on top of the mountain? Now you can keep defending your Fuhrer all you want, but he is leading your country, and the rest of the world, straight to the abyss. So if you take offense at me throwing rocks at you, well too ****ing bad. You guys need to wake up. This is heading in the wrong direction. And don't think for a second that you get China on you terms. Economically you have manoeuvred yourself in their vice... So basically; You're F'ed. And if that is not bad enough, you are still denying it. Which can only result in one thing. You WILL end up getting even more F'ed than you are now.

If what happens in your country was not so consequential, I probably would care a lot less. Maybe next time foreigners should have a right to vote in your election as well. It is directly impacting my life after all. :D

The article says it should result in 14,000 new full time jobs in the US. But I'm not interested in getting into an argument, I'm just pointing out that there is some good news out there.
Only the future can tell if these jobs actually materialize.

I have little faith in Trump, the man promised in 2015 steel workers and coal workers both industries would come roaring back, they didn't.

joey,
You're the first to win the trans-global Chicken Little award.
It will be interesting to see if you can keep up your anti-Trump shtick until November 2028. You know he can't run again, right?
It's not the GOP that needs to wake up. The Dems are in total disarray looking for some sort of direction.

If you live in Bangkok, then you have your own protective bubble. SO you can be comfortable in that monarchy as long as you can pronounce the king's name without stumbling.
Thailand is a special state of mind as I recall it. Both in Bangkok and up north where I was stationed for a while.
You should stay there instead of being here where, under Trump, you would probably being thinking of leaving.

When the US finally resembles the economies of medieval Europe where the middle class and poor are all considered peasants and the rich are considered superior beings then the Republicans will finally be happy.
Make the rich great again.

I take it you feel Elon Musk is the devil incarnate given he is the richest person in the world.
But, to your point, we are only one massive EMP event away from becoming a Medieval society again.
Have you read "One Second After".?
Glad you guys went through your Medieval Period and not us.

Give us a hint: What does "stop supporting Trump" actually mean? And, moreover, what difference would it make if you actually explained what you mean by those three words.?
How do Americans who voted for Trump now "stop supporting" him just 100 days into his presidency?

Only 100 days into his presidency and already a monumental cluster****. He is in way over his head. Clearly stupid and hobbled by malignant narcissism, impulsive as a 3 year old and deeply committed to Vlad Putin, greedy and paranoid he is leading this nation down a sliding board to hell and the likes of you want to give him more time? You should change your name to Jayfascist.

Great rant, risky. So early in the day and you're defaming the duly elected president.
If I was Trump, I would be paranoid too.
Of course the rabid Opposition thinks 100 days is enough for him to show complete success with all of his policies.
Watch that calendar. He only has another three plus years to go.

The main reason I dislike Musk is because he's an insufferable twat who thinks firing people on-masse for no reason without warning is fine and dandy.

I really hope the people he fired and then days later had to try and rehire because he realised they did vital jobs made him pay through the nose and sign binding contracts he can't get out of.

The guys an asshole and needs to piss-off to Mars.
There are rich people who are actually decent people but that's just not how Musk rolls.

It's not the rich I despise, it's twats who could be nice and just aren't.
I'm not expecting Musk to try and outdo Mother Theresa but not being a complete bellend at all times would be a nice start.

Just try and imagine if Obama had done exactly what Trump has done.

Do you think Republicans would be on board with it?

Musk is the richest loser in the world.

I guess losing $122 billion in just four month does make him the biggest loser in the world. But he's still the richest man in the world. So two things can be right at the same time.
Heisenberg was right. And you are right on both counts.

Great anti-Musk rant.
When I was in high school, using the word 'twat' in conversation was like using the c-word in mixed company.
My how times have changed.

There will always be resistance and opposition to a sitting president. That's called politics as usual.

Yep, there's obviously nothing wrong when you have a single guy who can shake off losing more money than many entire countries make in a year.

That's not a problem at all.

My how times have changed.

I'm in the UK and the word is extremely common.

Then again we can say the C-word on tv after 9pm so the way oue countries uses speach is extremely different.
The UK isn't as puritanical as the US, especially in regards to nudity.

Nudity isn't something we do often but it isn't the shocking thing as in the US.
The famous Superbowl nipslip from years ago wouldn't have been an issue here as it was clearly an accident and would have been treated as such rather than the national scandalyou guys made it into.

Yes, I do dislike Musk for being an odious crettin, is that now not allowed because he's rich?

Just pointing out what he said.

You didn't seem to understand it.

That doesn't support your claim.
Yes , you just had to look for the lawsuits.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_Lincoln_Memorial_confrontation#Defamation_lawsuits

Here's one that says he won $800,000,000 lawsuits, but amount paid is never confirmed.

It’s the teen’s second win in a whopping $800 million defamation battle against a number of news outlets including the Washington Post, CNN, ABC, CBS, The Guardian, The Hill and NBC.

No. This is not about republicans and democrats anymore. It is about your country.

From your own link. Did you even bother to read your own link? Had you read it your post here wouldn’t have been as laughable as the rest of your posts.
To refresh your memory my statement was that FauxNoNews lost a lawsuit for willfully lying about the dominion voting machines and was forced to pay $787,000,000 (don’t you love all those zeros!). You claimed that CNN was also sued for lying and that they lost “a lot more than $5m).
So how much did they lose?
I’ll post this to help you out:

CNN

edit
Sandmann's lawyers filed a second lawsuit on his behalf against CNN on March 12, 2019, seeking US$275 million in damages,[109] for allegedly "vicious" and "direct attacks" towards Sandmann. On January 7, 2020, the lawsuit was settled. The terms of the settlement have not been made public.[110][111]

Do you know what “terms of the settlement were not made public” means?

One: Other countries putting tariffs on us was a reaction to Trump imposing tariffs to begin with.
Two: I'm not a Democrat.

Anything else you'd like to be wrong about?
So when the rest of the world puts tariffs on us that is okay....You and your fellow democrats seem to be kind of mixed up with TDS.
I agree with @Gordy327 argument, but there's much more to it.

Tariffs are a tax on imported goods and services. It's an internal tax, imposed on businesses who want to trade with other countries.

When @antiquity says "other countries put tariffs on us" (which is a MAGA supporters seem to repeat as fact), what he really means is, countries put tariffs on its own merchants who want to partner with U.S companies. It's a misleading statement at best. France / England / Canada / Mexico etc do not impose tariffs on U.S companies. That's not how tariffs operate.

The other big thing here is: We have trade agreements with countries across the world. This is where the rules, regulations, and taxes get agreed upon.

I think people here are okay with tariffs in general. You ideally want to encourage domestic production and discourage businesses from partaking in countries with questionable ethics, morals, and unfair labor rules.

It is not TDS or "Trump Derange Syndrome" for the following reasons:

1. The Trump Administration isn't being honest about its tariff policy. They claim that foreign countries pay the tariff, when that's not how it works. When Trump brought out his big chart with a list of countries and islands, he didn't actually put in the correct tariff amounts. He even put tariffs on islands owned by Australia, and have no humans or factories in them. People want honesty and things grounded in reality.

2. The Trump Administration has never really presented a clear case on why the trade agreements need to be violated in the first place. We all understand about China, and Middle Eastern countries. We even to a certain extent about Mexico. But Canada? Australia? New Zealand? Iceland?

3. Conservative News Publications have come out against Trump's tariff policies. Wall Street Journal called them "dumb".

4. Joe Biden kept pretty much all of Trump's trade deals. He even imposed more tariffs with Russia and Chinese Electric Cars. So this is why people are confused. What exactly happened between 1/20/2021 and 1/20/2025 to make Trump want to impose high tariffs across the board?
