Trump says Iran and Israel agree to a ceasefire

Yeah, he was forced by Israelis to execute their foreign policy, not ours, and then when the Israelis realized that they can't bomb their way to peace and start getting the shit bombed out of their own cities, very likely went to Trump and asked him to push for a ceasefire. Israel started this, realized they can't finish it, and now want Trump to help all parties find an off-ramp.

That's what happened here.

Those anti missile defense systems are very very very expensive, and Israel has been shooting them by the scores, who knows. That has to have put Israel deep in the red. And as with any commodity, the missiles are not limitless, inventories are running low. All that would be ok if the missile defense system sealed the skies. They did not. Enough missiles landed to deny Israel a victory lap

Why? If this turns out to be yet another of Donald's tacos, we all know that you'll quietly scamper off into the darkness and lay low until the next time Donald announces some powerful, magical new deal at which point you'll promptly start a thread about it and respond to any posts expressing skepticism with "let's see". I just don't know why you feel the need to keep going through the motions again and again, when most of the human population on the planet now knows better.
 
1. We can't take tRump's word for anything.

2. Even if this cease-fire deal does come, it would mean nothing if Iran doesn't get to keep advancing its nuclear program. Israel/US would just bomb again.

We've been burning them up in a proxy campaign in Ukraine that we were unprepared for.

And there were many more and Israel knows it, and Israel is a very, very small country. Believe me, I understand why Israel is afraid of Iran getting its hands on nuclear weapons. I just think that they're actually better off with another JCPOA. Anything that normalizes Iran and that forces Iran to participate in joint diplomacy is a win -- provided that we continue to live in a world in which diplomacy matters, which is why I think the MAGA presidency and its desire to withdraw from all international agreements and replace these systems with neo-mercantilism is extremely dangerous.
 
So a ceasefire (which Iran says they've heard nothing about) happens in 6 hours so Israel is going to bomb Iran until then?

 
Trump wins yet again. The whole war was about Iran having Nukes. It's not an issue anymore so there's no point in the war continuing. And that's true for both sides.

I read and listen to a variety of sources and believe those whose information matches the facts on the ground. Most of the MSM has a very limited understanding of what is actually happening, either because they themselves lack access to quality info, aren't curious enough to get it, or want to push a narrative.

Iran didn't have nukes before the war started. They don't have them now. They did have enriched uranium that made them a 'threshold' state, but they were probably 6-12 months from having anything close to a deliverable weapon. They had already indicated in recent negotiations that they were willing to cap enrichment levels and agree to inspections, which is probably the grand bargain we're going to end up with now.
