Trump says Iran and Israel agree to a ceasefire

Iran's government is in shambles and is hanging by a thread.

There's no evidence that it's in danger of collapse. If historical trends apply to Iran, then it's likely the case that these attacks will lead to a momentary uptick in feelings of national unity. If China or Russia or Iran hit the United States with a Pearl Harbor sneak attack, people who were already in Trump's camp will be his holy warriors, and even those who don't like him so much will, for a moment, forget that they don't and focus on the foreign menace. I'm guessing that's how it would work in Iran.

You are hanging on to strawmen because you were caught making things up and hiding behind silly arguments. That seems like an incredibly sad thing to do in the face of every post I have made showing you to be wrong.

Lmao, you better run and tell the m nobody calls it Tel Aviv's airport.

😂

Good grief. I come here after what seems like an eternity of my paradise spa. Any guys are still doing this?

I'm going back to the hot tub. Yall crazy dedicated.

Airports do not have to be within city limits to be that city's airport.

True but Chicago has two airports. There are a lot of people from Chicago proper, especially from the southside of Chicago and the outlying southern and southwest suburban areas who would never fly out of O'Hara airport because it was too far north to travel to. Their preference is Midway International. The people who live on the sw or south side of the city of Chicago would most likely call Midway their airport. I had the choice of flying out of both as I lived in a western suburb before we left the state. Midway is built in Chicago. OHara is on the north west side, built in the city of Chicago.

That isn't how it works. Cities can and do own land outside of city limits for the purpose of running airports.

😂

It is much more likely now that Trump does something really stupid in the Middle East within minutes to hours.

Ah, I've not considered the possibility that jihadist priorities align better with our interests.

I promise to give that idea all the consideration it's due.

Tel Aviv municipality does not own the land Ben Gurion airport resides on and does not manage it.

You are floundering because you don't want to admit that Ben Guiron is Tel Aviv's airport.

We get it - nobody calls it Tel Aviv's airport, but anyone that does is wrong.

How conveniently cuckoo for you.

😅

So now you suddenly believe what Trump says?
And you're now suddenly calling yourself a conservative?
Sounds like your "conservatism" only goes as far as Israel can get anything from it.

Yes, I call myself conservative. And, ironically, it would appear what you call others has thrown you into hot water. Enjoy your break and reflect on your approach here.

It may make a difference that so far no one's talking (overtly) about regime change, which would be the case with a Pearl Harbor style attack. Is it possible that Iran can renounce international terrorism and become a responsible nation, the way Japan did after being bombed into submission? Trump has repeatedly presented the Iranian mullahs with a viable way to clean up their act. I'm sure they won't like his solution, but they don't have the capacity to strike back, unless one believes that Iran still has substantial nuclear capabilities-- which I do not-- and even then, striking back that way would be a pyrrhic strategy.

I liked this quote:

Sir Richard Dearlove, the former head of MI6, said it was too early to make a concrete assessment of damage to facilities buried so far underground.

“Has someone shot their mouth off and I mean, what would they know?” he said. “Nothing from overhead is going to tell you what the consequences of the attack are because it’s deep underground.”
