Most realize that adding 220 miles of the Great Wall Of Trump will have minimal impact on illegal immigration or illegal drug running. Trying to stem supply without significantly reducing demand will get you nowhere. So long as demand, those offering employment opportunity to "undocumented" labor and those who wish to escape reality with chemical assistance, is left unhindered then the supply to meet that demand will continue.
The demand comes from stupid US laws and leftist policies. Once you step foot in the US, legally or illegally, you can apply for asylum and be taken care of by the government. So, I agree. Remove these incentives and they will not come. It is not employers who give the incentives, it is the things I mentioned. These people can still come here illegally and be legal the instant they step foot across the border and if they can't get jobs because employers don't hire them, these people know the US government will take care of them anyway.
Yep, and congress seems content to keep it that way.
Fact is, if these laws were changed and we got rid of these leftist policies, we wouldn't need a wall because these people wouldn't be coming in the first place. If Democrats are serious about not wanting a wall then let's address these other issues and get rid of these things along with sanctuary cities and sanctuary states, letting illegals vote in local elections, letting them have driver's licenses, and giving them free healthcare and government assistance. Just recently, both California and New York City have been talking seriously about having single payer healthcare, specifically including illegals.
Why do I have to pay for your insurance? Get a job and buy your own.
Oh look, ITN has a magic excuse for not backing up his claim. er uh ITN, this is a debate forum not a pre-teen conservative chatroom. when you make a point you should back it up. And I really cant wait for you to back up your claim that "the left" thought mexico would send a check for something we never thought they would pay for in the first place. Wait, you cant back it up. Is that why you cowardly and dishonestly dodge the point? well, your lean says "very conservative" so I cant say I'm surprised.
No one in their right minds should have believed that Mexico was going to directly pay for the wall. While there are some Trump supporters that would believe anything, most of America has always known that this was never going to happen. People that want the wall don't give a **** who pays for the wall. They just want the wall. On the other hand, people who are against the wall like to rub these words in Trump's face for political advantage. I don't know what they hope to gain from it because people who want the wall aren't going to start voting Democratic just because we paid for it and Mexico didn't.

So no wall. Just let 'em walk right in. Right. :lamo
Insult fallacies. No argument presented. You seem to have lost the debate.
You said you don't want a wall. A wall is used to secure the border. You want an open border that anyone can just come across.
Fine. Deny your own argument then.
Still denying your own argument, eh?
Still trying to deny your own argument, eh?
But they ARE a bureaucrat.
Fallacy fallacy. There are no goalposts at all to be moved. It is the responsibility of the federal government to secure the border with Mexico, not Mexico.
So you don't want a wall. Earlier you denied that argument. Which is it, dude?
Inversion fallacy.
A newspaper is not data. Your link (which did not work properly) was to a newspaper.
No one owns the border.
Denial because Response and Facts are Inconvenient fallacy squared
America is well out of screwing around time.
Keep this in mind the next time you are temped to screw around.
Both sides are dealing in half truths. Trump never said Mexico would write a cheque for the wall but his claim that the USMC is paying for it isnt honest either.

We have 700 miles of wall and they are "walking right in" - adding 220 more miles of wall (making that 25% harder?) will not change that situation much, if at all. The bulk of the problem is the lack of interior immigration law enforcement where US residents (legal or not) are treated much the same as US citizens.
