Trump says he ‘never said’ Mexico would pay for the wall. But he did – a lot

The demand comes from stupid US laws and leftist policies. Once you step foot in the US, legally or illegally, you can apply for asylum and be taken care of by the government. So, I agree. Remove these incentives and they will not come. It is not employers who give the incentives, it is the things I mentioned. These people can still come here illegally and be legal the instant they step foot across the border and if they can't get jobs because employers don't hire them, these people know the US government will take care of them anyway.

Yep, and congress seems content to keep it that way.

Yep, and congress seems content to keep it that way.

Fact is, if these laws were changed and we got rid of these leftist policies, we wouldn't need a wall because these people wouldn't be coming in the first place. If Democrats are serious about not wanting a wall then let's address these other issues and get rid of these things along with sanctuary cities and sanctuary states, letting illegals vote in local elections, letting them have driver's licenses, and giving them free healthcare and government assistance. Just recently, both California and New York City have been talking seriously about having single payer healthcare, specifically including illegals. If Democrats got serious about this I would sign on the dotted line as being against a stupid wall. Until then, the wall is not so stupid.

Many demorats see immigration (legal or not) as accelerating favorable demographic changes and many republicants see immigration (legal or not) as critical to keeping US labor costs lower (and thus profits higher). Other than that, congress is all for limiting immigration (legal or not).

Why do I have to pay for your insurance? Get a job and buy your own.

If you support the ACA then you should be proud to pay for my insurance. I think I am going to change to a liberal and let you pay for my food, housing, and maybe my fishing.

You want to deny your own argument, that's your problem. I'm not going to waste my time proving people are denying their own arguments.

Bigotry. Bulverism fallacy.

So are you saying Democrats are not in their right mind because they are fixating on this very topic?

So no wall. Just let 'em walk right in. Right. :lamo

You can apply for asylum BEFORE you step foot inside the US.That's part of what embassies are for.

We have 700 miles of wall and they are "walking right in" - adding 220 more miles of wall (making that 25% harder?) will not change that situation much, if at all. The bulk of the problem is the lack of interior immigration law enforcement where US residents (legal or not) are treated much the same as US citizens.

You said you don't want a wall. A wall is used to secure the border. You want an open border that anyone can just come across.

Where did I write that? Never said either of the bold.

Good luck finding it, as I never did but feel free to provide the quote.

Otherwise, go lie somewhere else.

But they ARE a bureaucrat.

Contractors? All of them?

Most contractors are not in administrative roles...I sure wasnt.

So your response must be a Cant be Bothered to Use a Dictionary fallacy

Fallacy fallacy. There are no goalposts at all to be moved. It is the responsibility of the federal government to secure the border with Mexico, not Mexico.

Moving the goalposts fallacy, redux.

Too bad The Donald has clearly documented and continually reiterated his promise to get Mexico to pay for the wall. That was his promise, during his campaign and his intent when that document (linked to at least a dozen times in these threads) was drafted.

Maybe you should remind The Donald of your claim! :lamo

Denial because Response and Facts are Inconvenient fallacy squared

America is well out of screwing around time.

Keep this in mind the next time you are temped to screw around.

Not sure how your mental faculties managed to reach outerspace, but down here on Earth, nothing you just wrote connects to my post or this thread.

Both sides are dealing in half truths. Trump never said Mexico would write a cheque for the wall but his claim that the USMC is paying for it isnt honest either.

Oh yes he di say Mexico will pay of it. Stop acting like that fat orange pig and tell the truth.
