One thing that puzzles me is how those who seem to support Trump can’t admit his faults. I supported Bill Clinton, but acknowledge his sexual philandering, and thought that his taking time out from campaigning to preside over the execution of an apparently mentally ill convict in Arkansas was terrible, obviously done for political reasons, not crime fighting ones. How can Trump supporters not know that he said these pretty outrageous things?

Crime was down in the places where Trump sent troops. This is just a distraction, possibly illegal, by Trump. Of course if sending troops who mostly clean streets also deters crime, that’s fine with anyone, but a waste of resources that could be spent getting more police in the streets. I never support Bill Clinton; however, I lost all respect for him when he was caught in the campaign taking one stance on a given issue in one city, then in another city on the same day, taking the opposite stance. He adjusted his stances according to whatever crowd he was campaigning to.

This won’t happen. He is not fixing the crime problems by temporarily sending troops. It is all for show and will not have any lasting impact on crime at all.
