Yes, it was a police state action. But at least it was within her own state and not dictated by the federal government. It also was a temporary measure that didn’t solve any problems long term. It was all for show due to bad publicity from some high profile crimes. These actions are not solutions to crime and this one solved nothing but was a PR stunt, just like Trump’s actions.

No, it isn’t working out quite well in Washington DC. There is no evidence to support any permanent reduction to the crime rate in DC. Keeping troops and federal agents in DC indefinitely is not going to happen. Especially if Trump wants to repeat this action in other cities. There isn’t the manpower or resources to do this and it would violate state’s rights.it would lead to the US becoming a police state.
