Trump says Alaska is Russia at press conference

Wonder what he's holding over Alaska?
 
Trump is foolish to do this . Trump is at best superficially knowledgeable in the details of this complicated situation. Putin lives and breathes the history etc and restoring the USSR is in his DNA. If they have any type of public session Trump will look weak and uninformed. Sadly he doesn't have any seriously knowledgeable, experienced staff to draw on.....not that he would anyway. My guess is Trump caves to Putin, agrees to the secession of land to Putin and them reneges on the promise of weapons sold to the EU, GB and Canada and distributed through NATO if the Ukraine doesn't comply.

Yes Trump will also try to force Europe to comply and stop supplying Ukraine weapons. He has gone full on for Putin. Ukraine needs to get their dirty bombs warmed up to hit Moscow and St. Petersburg. Then we will see how Russia faires without either of those cities.

If we look back at his 2020 plan if re elected, he'll play it by ear, that's it and that is exactly what trump does when he tells us he knows more than his generals, his, well let's just get real, trump knows more about everything than anyone on earth, ask him. His ego hurts people. Who is trump to give alaska to Putin. I wonder how republican controlled Alaska feels about his plan?

I don't think Trump wants to "give Alaska to Putin." I think the reason he said he was "going to Russia to meet Putin" when he is actually going to Alaska is nothing more complicated than his handlers told him to pack a sweater for his trip to meet Putin this week.

Its not that complicated. Is he really that stupid or simply corrupt in surreptitiously siding with a war criminal?

The incompetence always hides the corruption.
 
It sounds a lot more like senility / dementia etc than a calculated plan to fork over Alaska to Russia.

Trump would be to blame and Ukraine will not lose quietly and they would have nothing to lose by doing it. Russia will pay dearly for their invasion.

America would invade Ukraine itself before it took responsibility for a nuclear strike on Russia.

They have what’s left of their country and the civilian population to lose, actually.

He couldn't give away Alaska anymore than Zelensky could give up all of Donbass. But he said that because Putin has been telling him that Alaska is Russian and he got confused.
 
Obviously just a slip of the tongue. Whatever is wrong with trump, just about anyone could have made that gaffe. He's shown far worse symptoms than this.

But imagine if it had been Biden...

He should at least know his own country and what it is.
 
I think many people would be furious if a British PM said he was visiting Russia while in fact visiting Scotland.
