Trump orders national institutes of health (NIH) to study transition regret. (1 Viewer)

I'm not the one that needs to go start dinner.

We ordered delivery. My wife won, we got Thai food.

If it's so important to you I'll permit you to have the last word.

Oh, no - I don't want the last word. I want to watch you keep trying to get the last word in.

Are we going to get to four flounces? How long can I keep this going?

Here's one. Award No. UM2HD111076. Jamie Raskin (D) got $25 million for some people to create an "Adolescent Medicine Trials Network for HIV/AIDS Interventions (ATN) Operations and Collaborations Center"
They won't do anything. They'll monitor what other people do. They've already spent $13 million of it.

I don't know if I understand what problem you have with this grant.

It seems to me that monitoring and collecting data about treating adolescents with HIV is a good thing.

It seems to me that we know what causes people to contract HIV, and we know what treats it. I find it difficult to imagine creating what appears to be a record-keeping function at a cost of $25 million. The Grant Writer's art is such that I might be wrong, but I didn't think I was when I read it.

And you think that's all there is to know?

Sure, why not! RFK already said they're going to find the cause of autism by September!

Kennedy says Health and Human Services will determine the cause of autism by September
"Scientists have since ruled out a link between vaccines and autism, finding no evidence of increased rates of autism among those who are vaccinated compared to those who are not."
And to do it, he hired a guy that insists it's caused by vaccinations...which has already been disproven, many times.
"Kennedy has hired David Geier, a man who has repeatedly claimed a link between vaccines and autism, to lead the autism research effort. The hiring of Geier, who the state of Maryland found was practicing medicine on a child without a doctor’s license, was first reported by The Washington Post."
So sho knows what miracles they'll discover about transitioning?
This upsets me so much. Especially since they are cutting funding for the very things that help those who are on the spectrum live better lives, even just have early intervention and better support.

This should be welcomed by the people who talk about how transgender regret is only about 1% because it will affirm what they believe but I'm betting it's a little different than what is being spoken about
I'm all for well-rounded research on the experience of trans people and those who were mistaken in being trans. I'm interested to see the results.

But...I thought you didn't trust studies? This is what you've said about studies:
"Nobody bases knowledge on studies."
"Studies collect opinions not data."
"So like in 100% of arguments studies are completely useless already knew that have something else please."

And you can't say these quotes are taken out of context, because the links to the original posts are included.

Transition regret has already been studied and hundreds of papers have been written on the subject
