Trump on Liz Cheney: ‘Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her’

When that's all she has, that's all she has.

If the fat orange thing says "LIZ BAD," Liz is bad. Independence of thought is not a MAGA trait.
Notice how they are now all parroting the send the kids to war bullshit. I guess they've forgotten W's invasion of Iraq?

Oh, they're against that now.

If you listen, you can hear their gears grind every time Trump says something new.

CNN Blitzer allowing only Republican Jennings to talk, defending Trump’s assassination threats.

OK, **** Trump, and all, but... this one isn't it, in my opinion.

He's pretty much saying let's see if she'd be such a "war hawk" if she were the one actually going to war, and i have no problem with that line of questioning.

I don't keep up with her, so I can't speak to how much of a "war hawk" she is... but I'd say almost the same thing (it's Trump's usual, clumsy drunk uncle delivery) if I were discussing any "war hawk".

So, yeah, out of all the gaffes, this one hits pretty light for me.

I'll admit it, but yeah, I took it out of context myself. In the context of her neocon past, the comment isn't quite as bad as it seems, though anyone can certainly be forgiven for coming to the conclusion that he was encouraging violence given his past rhetoric.

Unless I'm mistaken didn't that stuff take place under the Bush presidency? I meant Republican administration.
Now all the neocons have jumped into the welcoming arms of the Harris campaign.

It's pretty easy. If you like more war and global conflict, you vote for Harris. If you like less war and global conflict, you don't.

The Biden/Harris message? War is good for the economy!

How many dead soldiers do you think we would now have if they had stayed, none? Liz Cheney is what I consider a real conservative and yet folks like you side with the fake republican. Thanks for letting us know what trump meant instead of what we actually heard him say.
Yikes! A few Liz Cheney fans chiming in.

Many on this site think 'she's a principled politician' or 'Liz Cheney is what I consider a real conservative'

Face it, the Lizzard is just a chip off the old block!

All she ever said was " Give War a Chance” just like her daddy the war monger.
She thought she'd spend the next few years making 10’s of millions setting up her war
profiteer friends with lucrative contracts.
She's mad that Trump actually wanted to bring a few troops home instead of keeping the Bush/Cheney wars going for another decade.
There are personal fortunes at stake and she has done her best to protect that money.
Kiss that political career goodbye her sir name is not going to save her now.

The problem for Liz Cheney, Dick Cheney, and their comrades-in-exile, is that
they aren’t wanted by their own party, the other party has little use for them, and they lack
the most important element for power in an electoral system — charisma & a constituency.

Donald Trump suggested he would like to see how Liz Cheney would fare “with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her.”

Speaking at an event in Glendale, Arizona, after midnight on the East Coast, moderated by former Fox News personality Tucker Carlson, Trump called the prominent Republican surrogate for Kamala Harris “a very dumb individual.”

“She’s a radical war hawk — let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, OK?” Trump said. “And let’s see how she feels about it, you know, when the guns are trained on her face.”

The fact that republicans are supposedly outraged by the language Harris is using proves they are total lying hypocrites.

My problem is I despise both of them......

So? Open fire or whatever.

Trump called for violence against a political enemy. It doesn't matter who that political enemy is, or their politics, or whether you like them, all that is just bullshit cover by the Trump rubes.

He called for violence against a fellow American.

Plain and simple, that would get you banned here.

Yeah, Cheney was so unwanted he was the VP for eight years. You guys on the right tend to throw your politicians to the wolves after they are out of office. Even the sacred Reagan is a has been these days inside the GOP. Nobody is good enough, except the worst person you could pick to represent the party, trump. Sad.

Putin doesn't affect me or my daily life. Putin is a bad guy, but nothing like the left makes him out to be.

I know the left has turned Putin into this omnipotent supervillian who can control everything in the world.
Putin is a violent dictator who murders his political opponents, just like what Trump fantasizes doing.

Just admit you like violent dictators.

Why do you despise Harris if I might inquirer.

Harris?

The thread is about Cheney, I thought. At least that's who's in the headline.

But, truth be told I'm not a big fan of Harris for a long list of reasons. That has more to do with the ongoing slide in quality of candidates which seems to be occurring worldwide. There used to be a gem of intelligence here and there on both sides of the spectrum....

My bad it is about Cheney and I was never a fan either. She is however doing the right thing in this instance and for that I thank her.

Yes, violence is innocuous. Up is down.

Violent rhetoric begets violence, and it's 100% fascist. Own it. Just admit you support fascism.

He didn't say anything violent. Accusing someone of being a warmonger is practically the opposite of violent.

In fact, he said basically the same thing lots of Dems were saying when Republicans were starting wars in the early 2000s -- if they're going to start wars, they should send their children over there to fight.

He didn't say anything violent.
He did. He could have chosen language that didn't single out his political opponent, but he didn't.

Gaslighting isn't gonna work. If Trump wanted to talk about foreign policy, he could have done so without the violent rhetoric. It's fascist. It should be disqualifying.

Bullshit. No candidate suggested pointing guns at anyone.

Republicans have lacked morals for awhile now. They put their loyalty to one man over the health of the country.

And you already see the damage control and both sidesm. These people are sad.

Arizona attorney general investigating Trump’s rifle comments about Cheney

The Arizona attorney general’s office said it is investigating former President Trump’s comments about former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) as a death threat under state laws, in a statement to The Hill.

“I have already asked my criminal division chief to start looking at that statement, analyzing it for whether it qualifies as a death threat under Arizona’s laws,” Attorney General Kris Mayes told 12NEWS in Phoenix on Friday.

In Arizona, intimidating statements or threats can warrant a Class 1 misdemeanor or Class 6 felony, which can result in up to four months to two years in prison. Cheney also equated the former president’s comments to a death threat on Friday in a post on social platform X.

Which the righties almost unanimously supported at the time.
